I have two different sessions planned for her 7th birthday pictures. The carousel session was the first. I always wanted to do pictures of her on a carousel and finally got myself in gear to get it done. At 7, I really didn’t have a tone of time left. They turned out just how I envisioned.
This is Maddy and her horse Larry. Beautiful combination of child with her beloved animal friend.
The AZ desert really makes a beautiful backdrop for celebrating families.
Gus was able to make an appearance in this year’s photo session too!
That is an arm she will be clinging to her whole life.
And Maddy especially wanted this shot…(we had to recreate it from a baby shot we took of her).
That is a grab your heart type of grin right there.
(No worries, Maddy’s Daddy was in the not heavily trafficked street as well blocking any potential traffic for her short ride).
So glad I got to see you all this year!!!!
I finally did a session for my own babies this year! I thought a summer patriotic theme would be sweet and I wanted to shoot it in the desert. The AZ desert has been so picturesque post monsoons! Desert shoots can have their challenges but also a very unique beauty. Mosquitoes have been out in full force (and we are lucky that us desert dwellers don’t typically have to fight with bugs very much) so that was a bit of a nuisance but other than that…pretty smooth sailin’.
Two great things about this spot. It’s walking distance from Papa and Sweetie’s house and our home is in the foothills of those mountains.
I did the above session at sunset but decided to get the kids up really early the next day and do a couple more at sunrise in a different spot. We had to walk up a hill for the view I wanted. By the time we got to the top, we were so swarmed with mosquitoes that we were miserable. The kids were doing a frenetic mosquito dance as was I making pictures impossible. I took this first shot:
And then seconds later…
And my nephew reciting the Pledge seems a good way to end this post. 🙂 I love this!
At 1 and 2 years of age, these little beauties did a stand up job during their sunrise photo session. As usual, little girls tend to give me the best of the best grins when they are safe in the arms of love (usually Daddy’s).
It has been such a blessing working with you this last year A family! Big hugs to those two darling girls.
Isn’t she a precious one? I am such a big fan of those wide eyed and serious expressions on babies (and children too). So much soul in their eyes.
Thanks to all this rain, we have had some serious green in August in September. So beautiful for us desert dwellers.
Sunrise comes pretty early in September (but even still, little ones seem to prefer it to sunset sessions). Gave us the perfect opportunity for a sweet capture with Daddy.
I could have watched big sister Victoria all day. Everything she does is adorable.
Miss Valentina’s favorite place? In mama’s arms. No doubt.
It’s pretty obvious where Valentina and Victoria get their beauty from. Beautiful family.
See you all again in a few months for Valentina’s one year! Yeah!
