Easton Alan {Phoenix Newborn Photography}

This is our sweet, and greatly anticipated, Easton (son of my cousins, Rob and Cat).  Easton looks just like his Dad (I think).   Troy fell in love instantly and it took quite some effort to keep him away from the baby during shooting.

I had to sneak in a shot of Easton’s Grammy holding him (because Easton’s Grammy is my Aunt Karen and I insisted that she NEEDED a picture with her FIRST grandbaby).

My Poppy was a life long Dodgers fan and Rob grew up watching the games with him.  Easton is being trained to carry on the grand tradition.  You gotta start em’ young.

I never would have gotten the above shot had Easton not been a VERY deep sleeper.  We got lucky.

Such a handsome little fella!  Love him to pieces already.

Reese {Newborn Lifestyle Photography}

I love it when newborn baby girl’s are already displaying their sweet daintiness.  Just look at those cutsie crossed feet?

See these wide eyes?  So did I.  Nearly the entire shoot.   Miss Reese was determined not to miss a thing.  I was amazed at her level of alertness and focus.  She was so adorable and very interested in all that I was doing.

I was shocked when I was shooting away and saw her SMILE at her mama.  Fully awake smile at only 10 days old!  That very rarely happens in a newborn’s first week of life.  I have a feeling this little one is going to keep mom and dad on their toes!

I wasn’t sure what would happen putting a fully alert newborn next to the dog but it was pretty evident that these two love one another already.

What a little beauty.  Thanks M and K for bringing Reese to me for her first pictures!

My Best Little Girlfriend

As you well know, I am not on the other end of the camera very often but my girl child insists so I asked Tanner to take this shot for us.  I am oh so glad I did because I think this is my favorite photo of me and my girl.  We were doing a quick little shoot because she lost her second baby tooth last week and I wanted to make sure and capture it quick (her two lower adults have already broken through).

Tanner is such a crack up.  He was THRILLED (not) to do this for me.  Two years ago, on Tanner’s big game hunt, he used his uncle’s back as a tripod for his gun while sighting in his deer.  David was crying “uncle” because Tanner took FOREVER to take his shot.  When he finally did though, he bagged it.  Same thing happened to me.  I was nearly pleading with him to hurry it up but he was bound and determined to get the focus spot on.  Sure enough.  Tanner’s shots were tack sharp.  🙂   The kid does not like to be rushed (and you are better off not rushing him).

Like Father Like Son

I realize this shot is not going to win any awards but it’s going down as one of my top 5 for the year.  Cracks. Me. Up.

I was working in the front room and thought it was too quiet in the family room so I thought I would check things out.  Both my boys had fallen asleep watching tv.  Troy is a very slow eater so it is common for us to let him stay in his chair way past the mealtime because he just likes to chill and enjoy his food.  He isn’t a big eater and it takes him a long time to get through a meal.  If you try to take him down prematurely, he will often grip the tray and refuse to let go.  Choose your battles.

Two of the most beautiful faces in my life.

Lilly Bella {Phoenix Newborn Photography}

Sweet little Lilly Bella is the smallest newborn (sans my son Ty) that I have photographed to date.  At 4 pounds 11 ounces on shoot day, she came in one ounce lighter than my son Troy on his first shoot day.  Itty bitty little thing and cute as could be.  Having had the privilege of  photographing her older sisters, I think she looks a lot like her sister Layla.

Lilly slept like a DREAM.  I only saw her peek her eyes open one time when we headed out for her outdoor shots.   She didn’t just “sleep” either.  She was O.U.T.!!!  Jenna and I had too much fun with her.

When Lilly’s mama came in the door she said, “I had this idea on the way over…”

Who would have ever thought that J could pull this off one week after giving birth?  I loved how it turned out.  (Thanks J for such a fun idea!)

I am attempting to get the above right shot more often because I find that sitting babies upright on Dad or Mom’s chest gives you such a great view of their brand new, beautiful little faces.

Awww…look who has a dimple!

Thanks N and J for bringing your THIRD baby girl to me!
