Karter {Phoenix Newborn Photography}

Karter is dreamy isn’t he?? The above picture is my new favorite.? Those sweet lips and the serenity of the moment…sigh.?? Karter belongs to Nate and Ali, our sweet friends (pregnancy pictures here).? Karter’s brother Kade was over 9 pounds at birth so, based on my theory, Karter and I were going to struggle a bit during our shoot.?? Wrong.? Weighing in at 8 pounds 14 oz – Karter did just fine and slept like a champ.? He also was more flexible and liked to stay curled up more than most other 8 plus pound babies do.?? Funny all the things you learn about newborns doing this job but you always gotta have a rule breaker in the bunch.?? Some rules are meant to be broken.? :)??? I am anxious this morning for Ali to see these pictures of her pumpkin because I was just in awe of Karter yesterday while processing these.??? And the best thing of it is, because I have known Nate and Ali since they were kids, I know I will see this little man grown up.??? That is something to smile about.? :)? I think he agrees.? Is that an “all is well with my world” contented smile or what?

I really expected Karter to look like Kade but I am not seeing it.? More Macy Jo I think.

This picture below made Jim’s top two list.? ๐Ÿ™‚

And here is what Karter looks like when he is feeling angry.

Below is the other shot on Jim’s top two.

Just chillin….

He looks comfy as could be doesn’t he?

Had to try it.? ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a vacant lot that is overgrown with AZ wilderness a couple blocks near my house.? It changes every season and eventually it will have houses on it but for now, I am considering it an extension of my home studio.? ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t always ask this question but today I gotta know…since so many of my blog readers will watch Karter grow up and have vested interest – what’s your favorite?

  1. You do a beautiful job with your newborns. I think my favorite (and it’s tough to choose) is the one with the knitted bear hat and the tipped over basket. Although the ones with his hands posed under his face are great too…

  2. My favorite is the same as Kelly’s. It’s adorable! They’re all adorable, but the basket one is my favorite. Great job, as always, Doni!!!

  3. I have two favorites…the basket on it’s side as well….and the all white blanket background. They both seem to have the most relaxed, deep sleep, comfortable expressions. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Boy does he have beautiful skin!

  4. Its really hard to find a favorite so I’m picking three, the first one in the bucket, the teddy bear ears hat and the 7th one down (head in his hands), although I LOVE the tie so cute!

  5. i ADORE the first one and last one… aaaaaaaaaaand all the ones in between. hee hee…you know me- indecisive ๐Ÿ™‚ you’re just that good and Karter is just that squishy cute! xoxo

  6. My absolute fave is the one with him in the ears and the basket on its side. But I also LOVE pic #3 for his sweet cheeks…and the last one in the silver bucket…and the one in the stocking because it’s so cool…and…well, I could go on and on. From the moment I laid eyes on Karter Owen I told his mama that he is one of the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. He just has the sweetest little face. Awesome job Doni!

  7. He IS such a beautiful baby!! These pictures are fantastic! Geez, how on earth do you pick a favorite?! I have to agree with most and say the one with the teddy bear ears and the basket on the side is SO GREAT! I also love the stocking one – so creative and darling! I also love the bed one – I always love the bed ones, that bed is so stinkin cute! Great job as always!

  8. Oh my gosh, you have really become an excellent photographer! I always love your baby pictures, but it is so hard to choose here! I’m loving the last three – the shots outside. I also love the one in the crate, with the green blanket – the bigger of the two. But yes, the teddy bear ears/basket on the side is sweet, sweet, sweet!
