{"id":1099,"date":"2010-01-03T19:12:28","date_gmt":"2010-01-04T02:12:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/x.jimanddoni.com\/?p=1099"},"modified":"2010-01-03T19:12:28","modified_gmt":"2010-01-04T02:12:28","slug":"so-here-is-whats-buggin-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jimanddoni.com\/?p=1099","title":{"rendered":"So here is what&#8217;s buggin me&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Scroll down to the last two posts prior to this to catch up&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>An hour later and fever is holding in the 100 range BUT the thing that is bugging me is this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>On Wed at the ER the first blood test said this (and I have a copy)<\/p>\n<p>WBC 4.6<\/p>\n<p>Platelet Count 106<\/p>\n<p>The second blood test said this a couple hours later<\/p>\n<p>WBC 3.6<\/p>\n<p>Platelet Count 96<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday at 4:30 AM we had the first blood test at the hospital.?? The numbers were then:<\/p>\n<p>WBC 10<\/p>\n<p>Platelet 114<\/p>\n<p>On Friday the 4:30 AM test got trashed because it clotted before the lab could see it (technically a good sign for the platelet count).?? They tried to retest later in the morning but then couldn&#8217;t get any blood out of her so they gave up.?? Saturday they let us go.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the only info to substantiate that the numbers were showing improvement was the Thursday morning test.?? Grant it, the WBC count seemed up quite a bit BUT considering that the numbers were 10,000 off a couple hours apart in the ER, why would we assume that an 8000 improvement a day later was really an &#8220;improvement&#8221; when there is clearly that much wiggle room in the numbers to begin with??? Tracking with me???
