I have held this theory that boys underwear are just made tight at the tummy for no apparent reason. When I was at the store the other day, I finally remembered to shop the underwear isle and buy new ones. Tanner decided on Hong Kong, Superman, and Power Rangers. He loves Power Rangers right now:)

When we got home I had him put a new pair on. When he handed me the old pair I noticed the tag. Size 2/3! Holy cow! What kind of idiot would make their 4 year old wear size 2 underwear and never think to check the tag!!! How could I miss that? I was sure I had bought size 4 and I made sure to buy size 6 at the store because I thought the 4’s were too small. I felt terrible. Just another example of my distraction issues. He never complained.

Pajamas for the Big Guy

Part of the reason I was motivated to do underwear shopping was because my friend Meredith gave Tanner some of Ian’s pajamas and they were a size larger than what Tanner was wearing and he loved them a little larger. He kept trying to get me to wash them so he could wear them every night. Finally he told me :

“Mommy you got to buy bigger jammas.”

“For who?” I said.

“For the big huge guy!” he said.

“Who is the big huge guy?” I replied.

“Me!”

Should have guessed that:)

Like Daddy

Tanner is more like his dad every day. I have been noticing that he loves watches and is fascinated by them. Jim too:). Weird little idiosyncracy they share.

Mr. Clean

What is happening to my son? He is starting to become a bit of a cleansky. Not emmaculately so but definitely a change in behavior. Last week he was making his bed every day (I never asked him to do that). He has been sleeping in our room for the last week due to company and the flood in his room issue. The other night he turned down the sheets FOR me, than when I got in bed I saw him crawl into his sleeping bag, then get out, straighten my trash can and desk chairs and get back into bed. It was like he couldn’t rest in the disorder. Weird. He definitely does NOT get this from Jim and I:)

Birthday Party

Tanner will turn 5 in May and he wants a Lego party this year. Thinking of creative ideas for that? He loves architecture (Daddy went to school for that so another weird similarity). I am thinking maybe I will set up different lego, block, popcycle stick, pipe cleaner stations and let the kids be creative and build stuff. Maybe for the cake I’ll cut up pound cake into squares and then give them frosting, sprinkles, M&M’s and other toppers to decorate their creations. Open to any other suggestions:)

Tanner: Age 4 Size: Huge (according to him) Horrible Mother Award For awhile I have noticed that Tanner’s underwear looked way too small.
