To my Phoenix friends,<\/p>\n
Yesterday I was in Target and found this rectangular metal sign approximately 3 feet in length by 8 or 10 inches high.?? It was at the end of one of the photo frame isles and it said in a scripty font “babies fill a place in your heart you didn’t know you had”.?? At the Target on 7th St and Bell they had this sign in a baby blue but I am wondering if they have it in baby pink??? If you visit your local Target soon and notice that sign in pink, would you tell me right away??? They did have a baby pink one that said “Sweet Dreams” and I might settle for that one if I can’t find the other.<\/p>\n
This week Heidi and I were talking on the phone and I was telling her how having a baby girl is so different than having boys.?? She asked me to explain and I had trouble defining it.?? Reminds me of a line in one of my favorite movies Fools Rush in when Matt Perry says to Salma Hayek “You are the one I never knew I always wanted”?? :)?? – also why I like the above sign as applied to having a baby girl.<\/p>\n
I have always wanted a girl but knew I wouldn’t be devasted if I never had one because I L O V E being a boy mom – absolutely L O V E it.?? Having four brothers conditioned me for it and I think I dreamed of boys even more than girls.?? So while I was hoping for a girl, I wanted a third boy as well.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t until I actually had Tori though that I realized what a deep part of me longed for her.?? It really is a different experience for me.?? Keep in mind, my experience has been ALL boy – four brothers and two sons.?? When the Dr. walked into the room this week, he took one look at us and said “You kiss that baby too much” ;).?? He also made a point to mention that it was very clear to him how bonded Tori is to mama.?? \ud83d\ude42 :)?? We are just in love with each other.<\/p>\n
Now for all you boy mom’s…I have to add this.?? :)?? God is a sovereign God and if you only have boys then I think God only reserved boy spots in your heart so you aren’t missing anything.?? :)?? This isn’t a comparison between boys and girls.?? My boy spots in my heart might not be completely filled up yet either:).?? God may gift me with another boy someday and that will make me very happy.?? For today though, I am just reveling in this new experience of being a mama to a baby girl and well….Tori fills a place in my heart that I didn’t know was empty…and I am loving it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
