Ever get spiritual insights from cartoons? Apparently Chris Rice thinks so thus the song Cartoons LOL! *You gotta hear it to get the humor, he is amazing at impressions.
Jim went out and bought “The Incredibles”. I was fairly certain I wasn’t going to like it. I was wrong and thought it adorable. I like Holly Hunter as an actress and she was the perfect voice for the heroine.
The bonus features were pretty cute too. The babysitter dilema feels familiar somedays. LOL
HOWEVER, my very favorite clip on this DVD is one of the bonus features. Bud Luckey, a graphic artist wrote a Pixar mini cartoon called “Boundin”.
It is a tale sung Chris Ledeoux style about a handsome little sheep who dances in absolute vanity about his beauty so fair. All the little creatures enjoy his entertaining ways. One day though a rancher takes him off and sheers him. When he is dropped off back home he feels ugly and shamed. Along comes a Jack-A-Lope and teaches him about “Boundin’” (Rebounding after a fall). The little sheep learns to see his beauty and dances with and without wool happy as can be.
I had to watch this twice as I thought it so cute. The poetic lyrics are way too fun. It also has some good life wisdom though. How often do we sit “all pink in the buff” LOL, refusing to get up because of our despair/shame? I am a big believer in “Carpe Diem”. Today is a new day – seize it! Dance dance dance – live life like there is no tomorrow. Make today a day that counts towards something. God is a God of second chances and endless patience. Honor Him by accepting the gift. Get up and dance.
