Oh. My. Word.? This baby boy is so to die for cute.? I first fell head over heels for him at his six month shoot.?? He still hasn’t lost that last little bit of fluffy duck hair and I love it.? :)? Not only is he cute, but sweet as could be.? I could just eat this one up.?? I should have paid this family to do their shoot.? They really are THAT fun to work with.? I left this shoot smiling all the way home realizing exactly why I do what I do.
The interesting thing about toddler shoots is that they have to touch (and eat) everything!??? Capturing them true to form makes me feel like I am preserving the moment.? The toddler years pass too quick don’t they?
Right before he crawled smack into the bed of flowers.
I totally know this look.? I am a mama.? He is looking me dead in the eye holding my attention while his sneaky little hand is going for a flower.? All the while trying to hypnotize me to watch the eyes not the hand (watch the eyes not the hand watch the eyes not the hand watch the eyes not the hand).? Yes I know it well.? ๐
I just love this wall.? I love the lines and the light behind it.? It helps draw attention to the main thing – the people.
I also love it when they go through the monkey crawl stage.? I call this sensory overload.? ๐
I knew he would like the gate.? ๐
So there were these 4 women in a bar…
No joke. ? My first attempt on this stretch was to get Easton to crawl towards me.?? I ran into a little trouble though because to my left was a second story bar with a balcony where a group of women were meeting for happy hour.? They turned to mush at the sight of Easton (I can’t blame them for that part).? They lost all sense of reason then and began to attract his attention.? I couldn’t compete with the loud hootin women from the upper balcony so eventually I gave up on my idea.?? As I started to leave, I realized I shouldn’t waste a perfectly good opportunity and decided to use them to my advantage.? I turned Easton toward the upper balcony and told those women to do their thing.?? Worked like a charm.
(Sidenote from your friendly neighborhood photographer – should you find yourself out and about and notice a photographer shooting on location, please do not insert yourself into the equation and attract the attention of the subjects.?? Code of conduct violation.? :)?? If you truly cannot help yourself because the little tyke is as precious as Easton, at least get on the team and ask the photographer how you can help.? I often have people standing right over the top of me directing attention down to my lens.? I would far rather people violate my space to attract attention TO me as opposed to splitting the attention of my cute subject(s)).? K?)
Remember that post I wrote last week about the rain?? If you look closely on the tree trunk you can see it.? Tanner was standing over the top of me holding an umbrella while I was laying in the grass to get this shot.? No pain, no gain right?? :)? I am so glad we went for it in the rain because I love this shot.
Such a boy.? He just had to try it didn’t he?
On this shot I debated over removing dad from the shot.? In the end, I did process a bw version vertically cropped.?? I decided though that Dad standing nearby ready to intercept the near topple just felt like part of the story.? Dad is going to be doing this for the next several months because Easton is just about ready to start walking and there are going to be lots of tumbles in his future.?? How many near falls will his Daddy catch I wonder?? This scene will play itself out over and over – it’s a part of the toddler years and an endearing one at that.? That’s why I couldn’t remove that element.
Bye bye little buddy.? I am such a big fan of you.? In fact, tonight I am hoping for a boy.? ๐
