Troy had an appointment with Dr. Cassidy.?? Dr. Cassidy believe it is time for surgery but said we can wait until Jan/Feb to get FLEX money.?? He said that Troy’s eyes are crossing and wandering now and he is concerned that it may make reading difficult.?? He can see the letters just fine but it is not easy for his brain to pull all the info together.?? He said I can still patch but that it is just optional because I don’t think he thinks it will help too much at this stage.?? He wants me to do daily exercises.?? I have an appointment again in Sept so that is when we will discuss surgery.?? He thinks it is possible that Troy will need 3 eye surgeries.

I was telling him the story of Abraham and Sarah and how their children would number the stars in the sky.?? I asked if he could count the stars??? He said, “No.?? I think we better count by 10s”.?? 🙂

He was rubbing my face softly yesterday to put me to sleep because he says that is what Tori always does for him to get him to sleep.?? Such sweet things to hear.?? I love that Tori goes in there at night sometimes to “put” him to bed after we do.?? Of course I don’t love that she is getting out of bed ???..again???but the visual of those two together sure is sweet.?? Ty tucks him and reads him a story often too (and Tanner will do it when he is babysitting).?? Troy says he can’t sleep if someone doesn’t tuck him in.?? LOL.

Jim and Troy were watching a cartoon together yesterday and the episode was of a character saying something while crossing his fingers.?? Troy didn’t get the concept so Jim explained how crossing the fingers means you are really saying the opposite.?? I asked Jim if he explained the inappropriateness of this and Jim said, “No.?? I wanted to see how he would put that in action!”?? He is such an antagonist!?? Anyhow, shortly after Troy came in to the room and said to Jim, “They didn’t even notice I was crossing my fingers behind my back!”???? LOL.?? Jim still has not counseled on this because he is finding it too funny.?? Looks like mama to the rescue on this one.

Jim and I were watching Ghostbusters and we mentioned to Troy up front that (a) ghosts are not real and (b) the movie was just silly.?? He lost interest quickly and went out of the room.?? Nearing the end, he reappeared.?? Here are pieces of our conversation:
Troy:?? Ghosts are NOT real???right??? (This said with his index finger up by his head.?? He talks with his hands all the time, just like his dad and when he asks questions he often has that little finger pointed up.?? What really makes me laugh is many of his hand gestures are doubled – he does the same gesture with both hands at the same time.)
Doni:?? Right.?? This isn’t scary.?? It’s funny.?? It’s making mommy laugh and laugh.
Troy:?? You are laughing??? I didn’t hear you?
Me:?? Yep.?? I have been laughing.
Troy:?? Laugh again. Right now.
Me:?? (I laugh)
Troy:?? Was that a funny part?
Me:?? No.?? You are funny!
Troy:?? Are you laughing at my face?
Me:???? NO!?? You are just funny.
Troy:?? You are funny too (he starts laughing)?? I am laughing because YOU are funny.

This kid is so hysterical.?? I always love to ask him about his Sunday School lessons because I always get an interesting retelling.?? This week when I asked what he learned he said, “To never give up???never ever ever give up???.and always be a pirate!”???? I have no idea.???? LOL.

Troy:?? Wait I changed my mind again.?? I want milk.?? Mom – can you just hurry up and get my milk before I change my mind again!

Mom S came over and we went to lunch then I met Kat Luke for coffee and went to Barnes and Noble and Tily’s and then Jim came home early and we went out to the Horney Toad and had dinner and met Darin and Jodi, Dusty, Jamie, David and Aimee, and Uncle Dave at the Buffalo Chip to watch mutton bustin.?? Unfortunately, they didn’t do it so we watched bull riding instead.?? It was fun.
When we got there, Cooper was wearing his cowboy hat.?? The first thing Troy said was, “Howdy partner!?? I speak sheriff!” And then he tipped his pretend hat.

School and then gymnastics and then Noah’s play tonight “Hello Dolly”.?? While at the play, I got a text from Daniel that said, “Quinn asked me tonight that if I died if Uncle Jim was my understudy.?? Thespians.”?????? LOL?? She is so hysterical.?? (And yes???we are her God parents!)

Took Tori to see Dr. Amy at Pediatrix.?? She has long complained of a rapid heartbeat but I have always dismissed it as her running around.?? She has been complaining about it more often though and yesterday she came to me and asked me to feel her heart during the session when I know she had just been sitting there watching me and sure enough, it was beating fast and hard.?? Going to just have her checked out.
Dr. said she has a sinus arythmia (but that isn’t that uncommon) and is referring her to cardio just to get checked out.?? She also had her wellness check and she is up to date on immunizations until she turns 10.?? At 9 years and 3 months she was 52.3 inches and weighed 64 pounds.?? Height was 41% and weight was 43%

May 24th
Took Tori to see Dr. Nowlen?? – a cardiologist for PCH.?? Saw him at the 5757 Thunderbird office.?? Told him that Tori has for years experienced moments of fast and very strong heart racing (like her heart is racing in her chest and pounding hard).?? This doesn’t happen often but it has happened occasionally since she was young.?? I could never track down though why it was happening and if she was doing something to bring it on.?? She often complained at bedtime too so that made me suspicious because???.my word???this girl and bedtime.?? Anyhow, he recommended we do a monitor for one month just to see if we can catch it.?? The greater question would be what will we do if we did since it doesn’t happen much??? Would we want to medicate??? He said it is possible it happens more often than she actually realizes.?? We decided to do that when we return from vacation.

I was laughing this week because Tori wondered if she should get bubble wrap for Sweetie for her birthday as Tori and Sweetie both love to sit and play with bubble wrap and apparently they do that together when she spends the night.?? 🙂

Ty had his 13 year old well check with Dr Nemivant.?? He was in the 97th% percentile for height but was only 5′ 8.5″ which I thought was weird because I could swear he his taller than that.?? He was 118 pounds 72%.?? His hands and feet are bigger than Papa’s. :)?? His weight was in the 40th percentile.?? I think my brothers aren’t honest about their heights because Ty looked Dusty’s height last night or nearly and I know he isn’t only 5.8.???? Dr. Nemivant also told me that he has a deformity on his right side of his rib cage.?? Said not to worry about it and that a lot of people do.?? He got some immunizations and is all caught up now.

Tanner’s 16th BIRTHDAY!!!?? We gave his a cell phone with his own number and an Overwatch game.?? Went to dinner at Panda’s and dessert at Dairy Queen with Papa and Sweetie and Dusty.
