Rapscallion

We heard that word on a show the other day and Jim said he had never heard it.???? I told him it was a good description of his daughter.?? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Main Entry: rap??scal??lion
  • Pronunciation: \rap-?skal-y?n\
  • Function: noun
  • Etymology: alteration of earlier rascallion, irregular from rascal
  • Date: 1699

My sisters in love warned me that with a girl, I could expect several outfit changes a day.?? I didn’t expect this to happen quite so soon though.?? She is doing quite well with dressing herself and even getting her shoes on.?? After having two boys, I find this quite bizarre.

We are still having the clothes and diaper issue but I have discovered that she WILL wear clothes IF and only IF she picks them out and puts them on herself.?? A few examples from this week:

I had her dressed and ready to go in a cute outfit.?? She changed into this:

She is sporting Tanner’s shirt and shoes.?? She wore the shirt the remainder of the day.

Ignore my messy room.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

First she brought me the leopard top and velvet brown pants.?? I put those on her.?? Shortly thereafter, she emerged from her bedroom wearing this ensemble which she proudly put together herself.?? She kept all three outfits on the remainder of the day.?? She really likes that “You Tarzan Me Jane” look doesn’t she??? Slips her arm out of all her outfits like this.

These are her FAVORITE shoes.?? Her high heels.?? (Darin used to call them high hips – that works too).?? I put these on her most Sunday’s because she LIKES to wear these.?? I think she likes the clogging sound they make when she walks…or maybe she will be a stilettos girl.?? ;)?? And no…she didn’t get the “shoe” trait from mommy.

  1. I love it!! Brings back memories of my two girls when they were little. Another warning, wait until she discovers her wanting to do her own hair. I still remind my girls they DON”T need a gallon of hairspray or a palm full of conditioner.

  2. that second outfit made me laugh! this amazes me… Devin is older than she is and has no interest what so ever in taking clothes on or off by himself – other than socks and shoes and those only come off. He also doesn’t bother with his diaper so he’s different that way too.

  3. giggling…. soooo cute!

uh – susie – i have to argue with you on the conditioner point. i chug through the stuff! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚
