Tori Update

It’s Friday and we are still at Saint Jo’s but all is going very well THANK THE LORD.?? Her cathedar and IV were removed today and she is going potty on her own.?? Her platelets and white blood count are rising so we DID NOT have to see an oncologist.

She had an ultrasound during the night but results aren’t in.?? No news is good news with these things.?? Tomorrow she should still have another blood test and a VSUG (?) which is an ultrasound (xray maybe) where they put contrast in her and watch to make sure that the urine is not flooding back into the kidneys.

No one has figured out what the problem is/was but all are assuming at this point that she got a virus and had a rare and abnormal reaction to it.?? That is the only thing that makes any sense (as if that makes sense either).??

She is sleeping in her Daddy’s arms right now so I used the opportunity to get away to the Ronald McDonald room for a minute to write this.?? Here is the brief backstory…

Last week I though she was unusually fussy so when she came down with a 102 fever by Sunday I wasn’t surprised.?? She did fine with it though.?? Wasn’t real lethargic and was eating and drinking and playing okay.?? Just cranky.?? Monday she held a low grade fever during the day and back up to 102 at night.?? Tuesday morning fever broke and she went about life as normal.?? I didn’t consider much of a virus because the fever wasn’t putting her down too much and she just had some random runny nose issues.?? No big deal.

Wednesday morning I got her out of her crib at 10:00AM which is a little late for her and she still did not want to wake up.?? I also noticed her diaper was dry.?? I had put a diaper on at 9:30PM on Tuesday night so it had already been 13 hours.??

Well the story will have to pick back up later because the volunteer in the Ronald McDonald house is leaving so I have to log off.

MAYBE we will be released tomorrow if she continues to do okay and the test results continue to come back okay.?? I’ll try to update tomorrow if I can.

  1. I’m SO happy to see this update!! No news IS good news!

Did I tell you Beth had a high fever that went from 102-103.7 for 3 full days the Sunday before last? I wonder if it was the same virus? Nothing else ever came of it and she, like Tori, was just fussier and clingier, but no others “symptoms” ever came about. I’m praying that Tori’s reaction was just a fluke, if you will, and that she’ll be back to 100% health SOON!!!!!

    I love you guys!!

  2. Thank You Jesus for this good news!!! Will continue to pray for Tori, mama, daddy, and the rest of the family. Hope Tori is better and back home soon!

  3. Still praying and thinking of you all. Hoping each minute gets better. Lots of Love your way 🙂

  4. I have a good friend who’s daughter has kidney reflux disease and it does sound like they are checking your daughter for this as well. A lot of the symptoms match. Good luck with everything and I hope she gets released soon!
