Do you think it could be what it looks like??? Wouldn’t that be cool??? Dad contacted a local Natural History Museum and is waiting on a call back.
Update:?? The head of the paleontologist department just called back and deemed it “very interesting” and wants to schedule a tour with Dad to go see it.?? His team will be looking at Dad’s pictures.?? The guy believes it to be a tail of something.?? Dad found this due to recent rains.?? He came upon it fishing, and had to cross water in two spots to get to it so it’s not something the general public would likely stumble upon.?? Interesting?

Wow! That IS exciting! When I was a kid I read a book about a boy discovered dinosaur fossils and I always wanted to just happen across something like that.
The odds that it is actually the tail of anything are slim. A local geologist says he has seen crystals form something like this. Becasue it is in the base of a sandstone cliff that is being eroded by water makes it possible that it has been burried for a very long time. Only an expert on site will be able to explain it. I was surprised at the interest in the picture but we won’t know anything for a week or so. No hurry, it’s not going any where.
