Not impressed tonight and so sad I missed last night. I am just really enjoying the guy’s this year and not so much the girls.
Here go my thoughts:
Aloha – Aloha. LOL. I think she is a cutie but she just doesn’t stand out and I find her a bit nasely.
Lyndsey – I like her low voice and she showed a lot of personality this week. The song didn’t show off her voice though. I agree with Randy – she is going to have to stretch.
Jessica – Like her husky voice. I think she could do a good job with country but she didn’t blow me away tonight. I totally disagree with the judges that she was the best so far of the girls. Last note was good and powerful though:)
Mikayla – Heidi!!! How could you not find her adorable? I think she did a great job tonight. She turned up her game. Now in all honesty, I am not a huge fan of her voice (taste wise) but I do think she has talent especially for a kid. Just adorable.
Celina – Love her but pitchy performance tonight.
Nadia – So what.
Amanda – She performed this song better than Diana DeGarma last year (in our opinion:). She was on her game. Her performance was great and I loved it on her. Go Amanda.
Janay – See ya honey. (Jim said it looked like someone was pinching her neck forcing her to sing).
Carrie – You know I love her but the song was a bit rough tonight and it didn’t suit her. She didn’t “wear” the song. The judges were more harsh about it than I would be though.
Vonzell – Another cutie that has talent but just not my style.
So……tonight’s pick based on tonight’s talent is Amanda. She is the only one Jim and I truly ENJOYED tonight.
Now as a point of fact, even though I enjoyed Amanda the most tonight, my heart favorite is probably Carrie/Celina still. I think at the end of this, I will likely be rooting for Carrie. We’ll see. Also, I would point out that if I were going to buy albums based on my preference of style and quality, I would choose the following four: Carrie, Celina, Lyndsey, and Jessica. Did I mention I am a country fan?:)
Did anyone notice though that the majority of the gals dropped out on the low notes? At first, I was critical of them over this but later realized it was happening to all of them and I wonder if their mics weren’t equalized very well tonight.

Ok Doni, I pretty much agree with you. Some. LOL! ๐ Oh, & btw, I LOVEEEEEEEE country music too! ๐
Aloha – well, ok but just not sold on her. Kinda boring to me.
Lindsey I thought did pretty good – she reminded me somewhat of Tanya Tucker. Fun song.
Jessica I thought pulled it off! Martina is like Celine Dion to me…if you’re going to do it, you’d better do it good. I thought she rocked, but I have to say – – Carrie is still my favorite! Not the greatest song choice tonight, but I think her voice is just awesome! She got my vote tonight. ๐
Mikalah, Janay, see ya. Just my opinion.
Celena I like, but I just don’t think she has enough to make it to the top. She’s so cute & gives it her all, but I think Carrie will definitely beat her out. And Celena lives like 10 minutes from me, you’d think I’d be nicer! LOL! ๐
Amanda, good song, good job. And Vonzell was ok too. Not that sold on Vonzell, but I think both of them have the opportunity to step up their game & climb on up before it’s too late. Oh, & Nadia, well, I just don’t know.
See you tomorrow! ๐ ๐ ๐
my “c-yas” for tonight are janay & nadia – not impressed at all.
mostly i’m with doni tonight. mostly. ๐
i liked aloha better this week than last and based on tonight i’m ok with her staying another week or so.
mikaylah – OH MY GOODNESS SHE STEPPED UP HER GAME! jas and both liked her much better and i realized when simon said she was not annoying that something i guessed was right on. she zipped across her lips to say “mouth shut” basically and it was clear to me she PURPOSELY mellowed out and it is working! she will draw in more fans this way as she’s much easier to handle. she’s not my favorite voice/style but she did really well tonight and regardless of my tastes i thought in the style of music she sung tonight i could see talent. if she goes back to the over-the-top drive-yah-crazy jump-out-of-your-skin annoying bouncy chatty thing though i’ll be eating my words quickly. she needs to hang on to the stillness she found tonight – it makes her look/sound more mature and that is favorable indeed. i’m impressed that she figured this out and is truly playing the star game. good girl.
amanda – at first i though oh no… then she kicked in and i was so impressed. she REALLY owned that song – perfect choice.
lindsay – there is something good in there. she’s got to figure out how to express it. if she doesn’t she’ll be gone.
jessica – great job tonight – but i don’t agree with simon either – she’s didn’t give the best female performance so far. i think carrie outshined her last week by far. but she was more impressive to me this week than last.
celena – again another great gal – sooooo cute and there is definitely vocal talent. she’s got to find a better way to express it because it IS in there.
vonzell – good but she’s got to get better and step it up. she’s not getting to me especially but i’d keep her another week.
nadia & janay are done in my book – nadia looked strange performing tonight – like simon said i think something like she was forced to sing the song and did the best with what she could but not as if she loved it or liked it. i agreed.
in fact, i think the judges overall were pretty on tonight – at least with how i felt. they gave good advice and if the girls will listen they will do so much better next week.
it always irritates jas & i how the other judges (and audience) interupt simon just because they don’t like his opinion. he is usually very quiet when they speak and i think this is very rude. especially considering he’s often not trying to just be ugly to the contenstants even if his delivery is a bit hard – they still NEEEED to hear what he has to say. if they can suck it up and take an opinion as TOUGH as his can sometimes be they will not only get thick skin to the critics but they will be able to learn from it and grow. if they will listen to him and actually USE his advice they might just learn something and improve. he may be harsh but he does know a bit about these things… they’d be wise to give him a chance to speak… and the other judges should just be polite too.
