Scott – Had good moments but not my favorite performance. I thought he tried stretching himself though and that was good. I also appreciated how gracious he was with Simon’s critique.
Bo – Still my favorite. I personally thought he seemed a bit pitchy tonight however, I just love his voice and apparently we appreciate similar styles because he has picked songs I love every week. Fan of Your life by Edwin McCain is a favorite of mine.
Anthony – Stick to the ballads. Agreed with Simon.
Niko – Good performance. Still not my personal pick but he really did take it up a notch by the end of his song.
Travis – See ya! Was he on pitch at ALL?
Mario – Loved those gorgeous slides tonight. He’s a doll.
Constantine – Jim and I discussed him at length. We both think he is officially out of his league in this competition at this point however, we do expect him to get a record deal. For his style, he brings something to the table that many rockers don’t and irregardless of whether or not, he is an “American Idol”, Jim and I suspect he has a future in the business.
Anwar – I wasn’t sure at the beginning but he really turned up the volume by the end. Good job.
My favorite – Jim and I debated between Mario and Bo. Mario may have had an edge on the performance side tonight (because unlike the judges I did think Bo was a bit pitchy in places) but I still can’t help but favor Bo. So Bo it is for us:)

aaaah! i’m so irritated.. this is the 2nd time i wrote a long response to your AI updates and had it get lost in cyberspace. ho hum…
basically we are on the same page. i missed scott other than the brief recap (which made the performance seem lacking). what did simon say about him?
anthony was ok tonight – not my fav – but in a group setting i think he’ll add a good blend to the final 12. i liked his story about bein from ukraine and startin a new life here. – on the blend thing i feel the same about scott… but realize there is the possibility he could be cut as well.
nikko did well this time round – i told jas i thought that if i’d heard him singing at church i would have been more impressed – but in this setting he is missing too much for me. i don’t see star on him though he does have talent. he’s not my favorite style either.
anwar – he is beginning to grow on me more and more. i thought simon’s comment that he is SOOO NICE that he should marry paula because their children would be SOOO NICE was really cute. ha ha!
mario – showed his versatility – obviosly talented and IN the top 12… should last pretty long in the competition.
bo – simon said it’s his competition to lose. he seems so much more seasoned than the other performers and that make simons statement quite possibly true. if the right people call in he could smoke ’em. i’m just not sure there are enough rockers coming to the phones in comparison to the pop/r&b/hip-hoppers who might like the other sounds better. needless to say, whether his vocal sounds are flawless or not doesn’t matter – he’s got the all around package of a star with a great voice.
i suspect constantine and travis to be voted out – but i thought that last week as well. travis has personality and dance moves but his voice just does NOT cut it – very off pitch tonight particularly.
constantine was better this week than last in my opinion. but simon was right – he was impersonating sting more than he was actually singing the song for himself – even down to putting in the accent. however, i must say he sounded better doing all that – it’s just too bad it wasn’t really HIM but rather an effected performance. your comments may very well come to be for him. he has potential if you put a kickin’ band and great vocalists behind him. he does have charisma.

can’t wait to hear your reviews of the girls tonight. i’m not sure in either case (guys/girls) who will get cut as i just can’t see where america is getting some of the voting ideas from! but i do definitely have an opinion of who I’D cut… at least one for certain.
I was chatting on the phone all night & missed the guys singing, so I can’t comment this ’round. 🙁
I always forget to watch on Mondays! At least next week they start on Tuesday instead 🙂
I will wait for Doni’s report to comment on the ladies. 🙂
