Tonight Heidi and listened to the first 4 performers together and discussed our thoughts. She missed it in Texas and I was at a meeting. My honey taped it for me so I played the first four songs through the phone. Too fun!
Anthony – Awful I thought. Very pitchy and too vibrato in the wrong spots. Surprised the judges were kind. Another HS talent show performance.
Carrie – Holy Cow! She gave me shivers this week! WOW! Heather Heather Heather….I am soooo sorry that you missed this because of our meeting! If you want, you can call me and I’ll play your favorite gals performance over the phone:)!
Scott – Nice and smooth performance. Glad the stripping halted though LOL.
Bo – Didn’t like the song but still love his voice.
Vonzell – Showed a lot of personality tonight. Again, not a song favortie but good performance.
Constantine – Well what can’t he pull off? I though for sure he would fail miserably when non rock genres got introduced but he is proving me wrong. He grows on me each week.
Nadia – Ridiculous. Come on now….that vocal performance was pitiful.
Mikayla – Awful! (Funny, Heidi and I sang Love Will Lead You Back at a High School talent show. I actually have a cassette copy of it somewhere. If I can find it, I’ll have to post a portion of it just for kicks. Would I hear it and not want to post my critiques anymore? LOL!)
Anwar – Reminded both Jim and I of Stevie Wonder. I enjoy him and I think he has true talent. Don’t think he’ll be top three but he is a talented artist.

We’re pretty well on the same page although I don’t think Anthony did such a terrible job – I just simply don’t like his style at all… and don’t think he’s idol quality – more like theme park/cruise ship. 🙂
Scott – smooth pretty vocals
Carrie – WOH BABY! BRING THE HOUSE DOWN WHY DON’T YOU! she was ON!
BO – nice diversity – i’m still a fan – he’ll stay famous and sell lots of records – though the song was a bit slow for this competition – he sure answered for it well tonight on playback showing – he even answers his questions like a pro
vonzell / constantine/ mikayla – agreed… like doni i think mikayla should be in tv – she’s got lots to offer but not as a featured vocalist…. constantine has REALLY grown on me! is it just me or has his voice gotten better? they made fun of his song but i loved it – believe that? loved it! that it was so fun and he was a great showman.
anwar – he’s grown on me some too though i though he could have spruced up his song with a bit more personalization
doni forgot to mention jessica… i thought her vocals were great and she improved her look too – the hair was much better on her this performance. 🙂 there are some things about her voice that i’m not crazy about style-wise but she is a talented singer with good pitch and good performing abilities.. i like the growly husky thing she does. tonight was one of her better performances.
My first thought when I saw Carrie was Yikes! That hairdo is terrible…then later I saw Nadia and Carrie didnt look so bad 🙂
Carrie sounded great as usual.
Constantine sounded great too, but his smile reminds me of Frodo for some reason 🙂
I didnt care for Bo’s song choice, but he always sounds good.
Jessica surprised me by doing a great job!
oh yes – nadia’s hair – WAY OVER THE TOP (no pun intended) – RIDICULOUS!!! i thought it was just stupid and did not make her look pretty at all! her vocals were way bad – how does she keep making it on stage-presence alone? i guess lots of singers have done it before… but i need a good voice to give my vote and she doesn’t get it.
