Call Me Templeton

If you don’t understand my title, you need a better education in children’s classic literature (hint:? read Charlotte’s Web).? ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

I am a fair junky.? Since childhood, I have looked forward to the fair every year.? One of the reasons why October is my favorite month.?? Every year I nearly roll out of the fair after over indulging on yummy fair food.? Corn dogs always taste better at the fair.? Susanna’s has the best green chili burritos – oooohhh I want another right now.? Fried bread, funnel cakes, candied apples, frozen banannas, ice cream bars with nuts….yum yum yum!? Not all fried bread stands are the same though and it can be tough to find the RIGHT one.? (I like the thicker yeasty bread).

And then there are the commercial exhibits, art and craft displays, animals, exhibits (we watched pig races this year), crazy rides…..fun fun fun.

This year Jim and I decided to go twice.? He took a vacation day so that we could get wrist bands for the kids and let them ride to their hearts content and then we went again the following evening to be with family, eat, and look at stuff.? We still didn’t make it to some of the places I wanted to visit either.??? It’s tough to make much progress on family night.? This year attendees were:? Jim, Doni, Tanner, Ty, Tori, Papa, Sweetie, Aimee, Zandi, Zane, Jodi, Karsyn, Ryker, Cooper, Dusty, Michelle, Uncle Dave, Aunt Beck, Jenna, Jamie, Shane, Josh and Britt.? We were missing David and Darin and of course – Dan Brooke and kids (who were dearly missed).? Anyhow, with a group like that, we move pretty darn slow but have so much fun.? Here are some fair snaps from this year…

Dusty and Jamie’s feet above us on a crazy high ride.

Jodi – my fair co-hort – also a BIG fan of thrill rides.? Ryker didn’t think it was a very wise idea however and told Papa so.? “I really don’t think she should do that”.

Ty is not allowed to have gum.? Everyone knows this.? How many times though will family members try to renegotiate this point?? A couple of months ago, Sweetie talked me into giving Ty a piece of gum while we were out for the day.? He had been doing pretty good and had earned another chance so I said yes.? Twenty minutes later we find the gum.? Stuck between the pages of the library book. GRRRRRRRR!!!? Grounded again.? At the fair Aunt Beck asked.? I said no.? She persisted.? I relented.? Can you guess what Uncle Dave and Aunt Beck are feverishly trying to do here without me noticing?

Sweetie and Ty – counseling session over the gum incident.

Jenna then Michelle and Aimee

Ty adores Shane.

WykerWoo (as Tori calls him) and Dusty and Shane and Ty

Tori and her (very handsome if I do say so) Daddy.

Tori playing with Cooper.? She LOVES her Cooper baby.? She keeps asking us for a baby for Christmas.

These shots from family day.? Didn’t even try to get six eyes on the camera.? Didn’t even try it.

Fair ride status updates:? TANNER – likes rides but will go on nothing with heights – not even the slides.? TY – likes some rides like bumper cars (figures) and doesn’t mind heights (he did go on the slide and ferris wheel with me) but HATES anything that spins.? I made the mistake of taking him on the teacups and he looked quite green for a good long while.? TORI – LOVES IT ALL.? At getting close to 3 (Feb 5th), she was still not 36 inches though so she was having fits when ride operators wouldn’t let her on.? Some were confused by the high ponytail and slipped her through.? Getting her off rides was awful.? I can’t wait for her to get bigger because I think she is the only one that will love the thrill rides with mama.? Nothing – absolutely nothing scared her.? Ty was over 36 inches before he even hit 2.? Tori is not particularly short though but she is tiny.? I weighed her at the Dr.s office last week and she was 23.8 fully clothed with shoes on.? Such a tiny little thing.

Ty looks so proud of himself for rear ending his siblings doesn’t he?? Shocking.

  2. Doni I loved, loved, loved all the pictures!! You did great a capturing the moments (and all the love that is shared!) And correction Miss Heidi Jo…”gosh i wish i could have been there. i miss MY ARIZONA FAMILY!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. Great pictures. This year I (yes I did) took the 3 older boys to a little carnival in NY and the twins were actually too tall to ride on some of the rides. It was so sad. But they loved the slide on the burlap sacks. Seth weighs more than Tori! He was 24 and a half pounds at his one year check on Wednesday. He is also 32 inches already so I am sure he will hit 36 before he is two.
Loved the Halloween pics. I was at the store on Halloween buying Luke a Boba Fett gun for his costume, because it was the only way he would wear it. He would have loved to have seen Ty in his Darth Vader Costume. Luke still talks about going to your house and wants to go there again.

  4. I haven’t checked in for a while. The children are really growing and are still just gorgeous! Your photography is awesome as always!! Hope you all are well and having a wonderful life.
