Well now…doesn’t THIS just beat the band? In case you are out of the loop, the South Korea scientist who published last year that he had made significant headway in cloning a human embryo had to recant. Guess why? 9 of the 11 lines WERE FAKE! If you want more info, read here or simply google “South Korea Fraud” and you will get quite a list of articles out this week.
Do you know what frustrates me the most about this? I read in a few articles the question “Why?”. Why did it get published last May? Let me just put forth a little idea.
WHO do you recall was in Washington DC last May lobbying against ESCR? Does it seem ironic to you that when the United States was putting forth the Embryonic Stem Cell Expansion bill before the House, South Korea publishes information on their advancements?
This was a topic of conversation while we were in DC and I believe it influenced the vote. This feels personal to me. Tanner and I were truly standing against forces of evil if we were working against international governments willing to lie and cheat to influence world politics.
What do you think of THAT?????
P.S. Here is an article that was published about the 11 lines on FRIDAY MAY 20th 2005. Tanner and I were in the White House lobbying on this issue on May 24th 2005. I have NO DOUBT as to why the United States published this information 4 days before the House vote. Man….this really makes me angry. Further, there is now a review board looking at all the international funding this research team received for this fiction. Interesting to anyone but me that South Korea would have reason to want American’s to support this research as they were internationally funded? I can think of a whole lot of reasons that make that May 20th publish date ANYTHING but coincidental!!!!! Truly infuriating! I am also reading reports that all 11 were in fact fabricated.
Just couldn’t resist! LOL
