Troy – Day 9 – July 3rd

Troy was named after my Poppy and Poppy was a lifelong Dodgers fan.? I thought a picture in Daddy’s mitt seemed appropriate.? ๐Ÿ™‚

It is amazing to me how fast a person can fall head over heels in love.? I look at my tiny son and it seems as though he has always owned my heart.? I am sighing with contentment that this little person, who we have always waited for, is home with us now.? I look into his beautiful little eyes and think “yes it was always you”.???? He feels the same.? :)? In fact, now that he has Daddy, Mommy, and Tanner at his disposal, he doesn’t feel he should ever be laid down.? Fine by us.? We’ll oblige.

He is sleeping decently for a newborn. Typically 3 hour stretches at night.? Jim takes the first middle of the night feeding (at least while on vacation) and then I take over after that.??? When your first baby is born, you think you might die of sleep deprivation.? You agonize over how long it might last and you are desperately trying to rush the household into an early bedtime so that you can soak up the first few hours of sleep before baby wakes.? By baby number four though, perspective changes.? You know how temporal the loss of sleep is.? You realize and have witnessed how fast they grow.? You treasure the quiet bonding time with baby and you pray it lasts longer because you want to drink every bit of it in and remember.

Have I told you how happy I am lately?

  1. I L O V E this picture! Oh how I wish we would have done that with one or all of our boys.

You are so right about #4. I never minded getting up with Seth in the middle of the night, of course he decided to sleep through the night by 7 weeks. Even with the Twins being preemies, Seth has definitely been my baby the longest, especially with all his dev. delays.

  2. Oh what a picture, amazing. Daddy must be so proud too ๐Ÿ™‚ I cant wait to see what else you come up with ๐Ÿ™‚
