Boys and UFC

With having four brothers, I don’t even bother trying to make a “no wrestle” rule in this house. It just comes with the territory and is good for male bonding.

Tonight the boys were carrying on in the front room as usual and inevitably someone started cryin’. I am trying to teach them moderation with the understanding that “you get what you give” in this game so you better reign in. Anyhow, I could tell that it was going to be a doozy and Ty was not breathing. He hasn’t had a BHS for quite awhile. I couldn’t get him to recover from this one and he was starting to pass out. Jim takes him from me and trys to comfort him and soothe him into breathing. His little body goes completely rigid. His arms and legs were straight as a board. His hands balled tightly into fists. Even his toes were pointing like a ballerina – COMPLETELY stiff. In a panic, I say “Jim! I think Ty is about to have a seizure – something isn’t right!”

Jim say’s “It’s okay! I see this all the time! Sometimes when people pass out they go limp and other times they go stiff as a board. I watch guys do this on UFC all the time!”

Alrighty then! Guess there IS one good reason to watch UFC. Now we can compare boy injuries to Tito and Shamrock.

When Ty “came back” to his little ole’ self he immediately asked for a cookie. We knew he was then out of the woods ๐Ÿ˜€ .

P.S. Yes I will post about Sweetie and Papa soon and my newest little princess.

P.S.S. Have a posting on the boy’s almost done too – just needs pictures.

P.S.S.S. Having my endo biopsy today at 4:00. Feel free to pray about that ๐Ÿ™‚ !

  1. Are you sure you wanted to post this today when Kristi will be watching the boys????!!!!!

Tee! Hee! Kristi, if you need us, give us a call and I’ll send Uncle Dave running to help.

  2. Well, let’s just say there will be NO wrestling of any kind here today! I will be Ty’s personal bodyguard and love every minute of it!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to a fun afternoon with the boys!

    Definitely praying for you Doni!

  3. big big sighs…. oh dear ufc… i see those moments and jas asks me “can you imagine being the mother, wife, girlfriend watching someone in the ring like that?” i imagine seth and about pass out with the fighter on my living room rug as if it’s a mat… sheeesh…NOT a good one.

(by the way, jim comparing that to watching UFC remind me too much of my mom’s uncle telling her not to worry about her labor starting because he’d delivered LOTS of calves! goodness!)

  4. AWESOME…I don’t stop by for a couple of days and you go POSTal…(I couldn’t resist!) I wish I could remember all the comments I wanted to make…oh, remembered one…you write down things about the boys? Why didn’t I think of that! I guess I should carry a little notebook around w/ me. Thank you for the Papa/Sweetie update. Beautiful pictures. I see where you got the talent from.

Love the wrestling pics…it happens a lot in my house. Sam is crying now because someone bumped him a little hard. He’s not getting the attention he wants out of it so he’s decided to make himself choke. Ah, life w/ boys… In our house “you get what you give” is “if you’re gonna be dumb, you better be tough.” NOT a good thing to say, I know…it slides w/ the understanding that their actions are dumb, not them!

I still need to call you for that on(phone)line lesson…too overwhelmed to attempt it now, though…do you relate? And guess what is still sitting on my table waiting to be mailed? The good thing is the longer it sits the better chance more stuff will be added in a creative fit.
