Hi Jamie:
Happy Birthday.
I hope you have a fun day and a great year now that you’re a grown-up and no-one is the boss of you anymore, and the heavy weight of responsibility is about to come crashing down upon you.
I’ll be thinking of you on your special day.
Sorry, but I can’t figure out how to put a smiley face in there to let you know I’m teasing you.
Really do have fun.
Love you,
Sarah
Jamie… I’ll never forget being 16 and driving down the California road with singing “Don’t be sad, don’t be scared, Jesus cares for you…” You were such a darling and have now grown into such a beautiful young woman! I wish I could be there to cheer you on for your birthday – enjoy it – live it up – and soak up all the love you can find. 🙂
Happy Birthday!
Heidi Jo

To our Darling Daughter,
To think of how my heart broke with the words that I would NEVER be able to have more children. After having your big brother and having the absolute most precious son, tore our hearts out at not having another little one to hold and love. Having no fear of the cancer that could take my very life, my saddest moment was when I read the words, THIS RENDERS YOU STERILE! when signing the consent form for the hysterectomy. God so moved in our lives just a few short years later with the most memorable words…YOU’RE PREGNANT (interpretation – a birthmom chose us to be your parents.) That three month pregnancy was great. The birth process even better!!!!! You have been the delight of our hearts, the first little girl to dress in frills (sorry Jarrod but as much fun as I had dressing you in jeans and tee’s, mullet and all) a GIRL was sooooo fun! You have always had a smile on your face, a giggle in your voice, a twist in your hips, and the joy of our days! God granted us your little sister to share in dressing and pretty much looking up to you, as well. What an incredible gift God gave us in you kids. We couldn’t be prouder of you and know that as you become an official “adult” we have no fear of the great woman you are becoming and the wise choices you make. May God grant you every dream your precious heart could desire as we continue down the path He leads you through. We love you more each day, Mom and Dad.
eyes welling, aunt beck!
Dearest Jamie,
So, it totally freaks me out that you’re 18 now. Partly because I remember what I was doing when I was 18, but I’ve decided that either God put a smarter head on your shoulders, or you’re way more afraid of Mom & Dad than I was, either way, I thank God every time I see the life that you live.
The Lord has gifted you with such a sensitive spirit, and a caring heart, and I know that He has and will continue to bless people by bringing you into their lives. It has been wonderful to be back in Phoenix these last couple of years and see you grow up. I have finally, begrudgingly had to admit that you’re not my little baby sister anymore, but in losing that, I have gained a great and trusted friend. It’s so cool how God does that in our lives. We will always have each other, and even when our relationship changes as God sees fit, I know that you will be right by my side.
So, you’ll graduate soon, start college, and even though I don’t want to hear a single word about it, you’re going to have to give mom some grandkids. ‘Cause I’ve been a little preoccupied for, oh, the last 9 years, and don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. You are going to be such an amazing mother/wife, and your husband better treat you right, ’cause I’ve got 300 pounds of Big Brother to take him out if he doesn’t!!!!
So all this to say, happy birthday dear, I love you more than you’ll ever know…
-Jarrod
I made it past Aunt Beck’s post and flooded my computer with Jarrod’s post! Does he need another sister! 🙂
Happy Birthday Jamie, from the sounds of it you must be one blessed young lady and sounds like you’ve brought much joy to your family!
Happy Birthday Jamie!!! WOW ! How did that happen so fast? You have grown up right in front of us. It’s been exciting to watch God work in your life. He has made your heart one for Him and others around you. You have stood strong and tall against the many pressures of this world. We are all so proud of you. Continue in the way of the Lord, For in His will ,thy peace will be. You are precious to your family and all those that come in contact with you. Thank you for taking such good care of my grandchildren . It means a lot to be able to trust your children to someone like you. Have a great Day! We Love you. Love ,Pat & Dawn
Jamie…I cannot believe you are 18! Where does the time go? Every Sunday I see you and can’t help to think what an amazing person you are! You are so great with Children and even better with those undergoing surgery. You are just there for everyone with a smile, a helping hand and a fabulous sense of faith that everyone can see from a mile away! Don’t worry if you think everyone can’t believe you are 18…as you are completely mature enough to be that age….we are just freaking out because it reminds us how old we really are! LOL
Thank you so much for showing the youth at GFF how much fun you can have believing in HIM. You never followed a crowd….you followed your heart which was connected to HIM! What a tremendous blessing you are to those that look up to you……
I too…was very worried about your MOM for your birthday…..Noah turned 4 and I cried….18 will do me in! LOL
However, Jarod….I am at a loss and you SOOOOO remind me of my brother…..He said almost the same thing to me when he realized I was no longer his baby sitter that needed help but was a woman in my own right. Praise to you for placing value in what can be one of your strongest relationships in life…that of a sibling!
Happy Birthday Jamie….You are loved more than you know! Heather Shaver
I’m needing a Papa and Sweetie update. You know how we Mom’s worry–and besides that I want to know what fun they are having or if they are home yet!
