Introducing the Brinkman Superhero’s….
Starring – Doni as Trinity from the Matrix, Tanner as a Power Ranger, and Ty as Dash (although he kept insisting he was MISTER Incredible).
I have a slideshow posted HERE with many more family pictures. Daniel as Mr. Clean, Brooke and Braxtyn as Cowgirls, Jodi and Aimee as Zoo Keepers, Zandi as a Zebra, Zane as a Rhino, Karsyn as a Lion, Noah as a Power Ranger (SPD), Graham as a Rodeo Clown, and Jamie as a Bunny. Did I get everybody?
It is a RARE occasion that I dress in costume for Halloween. I am not particularly creative and I don’t get motivated to do it (much to Brooke’s chagrin who is queen of costumes). Last weekend after Jamie’s picture shoot in Oak Creek Jamie asked me if I was dressing up. “Not likely!” I replied. “Unless I happen to find a Trinity costume (ha ha)! Jim would LOVE that!”
On the way home we stopped at a costume store because I needed black makeup for Dash. Low and behold I back into a rack, turn around, and there is a Trinity costume. On a lark I tried it on. I couldn’t resist it! ๐
I didn’t tell Jim or my mom (or several others) that I was dressing up so when Jim came home I could surprise him. The first thing he said was “COOL! Did you really cut your hair?” As If!!!!!!
So yes the costume WAS a hit with my honey LOL! I told him that my dress up time should prove the point that my hair should NOT be cut like Trinity’s but it backfired on me because he disagreed. I even tried to get pictures on Jim’s jet black ninja but I couldn’t get his bike out of the garage ๐ . You will notice in the slideshow that I did get a picture on Uncle Dave’s street bike though. Sometimes I just get a wild hair ๐ ! (And that is about as “wild” as I am likely to get LOL).
My mother’s comment was the funniest. Sweetie say’s “I don’t know what that is but I LIKE it!!!!” Later she asked me if I could wear my Trinity costume again. I had to explain that nice girls shouldn’t appear in full black vinyl in public places if they wanted to avoid negative feedback. One could only get away with that get up with family on Halloween. ๐ ๐ฏ
Sidenote: In case you forgot from a previous post, when I was 9 months pregnant with Tanner I got out of the shower with my hair wet and slicked back and Jim grabbed the camara and started taking pictures. He has asked me every since to cut my hair and wear it like Trinity. No worries. I have NO intentions of doing this. It was pretty fun to imitate the hairstyle for an evening though without cutting it! (Sidenote 2: Taking pictures of my HAIR. That didn’t read quite right LOL)
We had a fun night with the kids and I only brought a tiny bit of candy home! Score two points for mom!
