Dad just called from the hospital and here is the update:

Ferris just got out of surgery.????As he went into surgery at about 10:30, this 2 hour surgery was more like??4 hours.??

It wasn’t the femur that broke.?? It was the tibia and fibia.?? It was a VERY bad break.????He has a titianium pin running down the length of his leg (knee down).?? There was so much pressure??building??up in the muscles??that the Dr.s thought he was at risk of losing his leg because the swelling could have killed the nerves.?? Therefore, they decided to cut the back of the leg to release pressure and he??now has a wound vac.?? IF the swelling goes down, they will do surgery again on Friday to sew everything up.?? If not, they will have to skin graft from his thigh.?? He will have one more surgery after that as well (I am not sure why).?? ??This will be a 4 to 6 month recovery.?? He won’t be in a walking cast for 2 to 4 weeks.?? Due to another surgery on Friday, I have no idea when he will get out of the hospital.

Just thanking the Lord right now that he survived!

Susie is doing well all things considering.?? She should be hearing back on Landen’s test results this afternoon and is on pins and needles over that as we all are.?? I have had many phone calls today and everyone is wondering “what can we do?”.?? I don’t know the answer to that yet but sending your love, and cards of encouragement would be most appreciated.?? Contact me directly if you would like to do that.?? And, no I do not know if Ferris will be able to get short term paid disability yet.?? We really need to be praying about that topic as well.?? HOWEVER, he was hit by an insured driver and so sometime down the road, should be looking at a nice settlement for this.?? That, at least, is a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy day.

P.S.?? Happy Birthday to my little darling Ty!?? He is 3 today and we have much to celebrate.?? I was going to write that celebration posting today but I don’t have the heart to right now.?? I’ll post that one later this week.
