As usual, I have good news and bad news.?? I’ll start with the bad.
Ferris was supposed to be transitioned to a rehab center yesterday where they figured he would spend 2 to 4 weeks.?? Yesterday afternoon Ferris starting having breathing issues again and his heart rate was dropping.?? Many tests later, they discovered that he has??5 blood clots.?? We were concerned about a pulmonarry ambulism before but now it has been verified.?? There is on clot in the lower left lung, one in his arm where the PIC line was,??one in his neck, and two in his leg.?? I won’t elaborate on how dangerous this is.?? I assume most of you know.?? Obviously they won’t be moving him and they are treating this quickly and aggressively with blood thinners and magnesium sulfate.??
??
The good news is Jacob is over his illness and no worse for the wear!?? Yeah!?? Also, a little over a week ago, Landen was put on a new drug.?? The down side of the drug is it has side effects that create psychotic behaviors (temper, irritability, scratching…)…the good news is it is WORKING.?? It has greatly decreased his number of grand mal seizures this week and his blood work is looking better.?? He may just get this surgery yet!!!!?? They call Landen “the honeymooner” because often he will have a good response to a new drug initially but then his body acclimates and the seizure activity increases.?? Praying that doesn’t happen this time round.
