He is SIX…

and it is breaking my heart.?? I have been seeing his “sixishness” in a million ways lately too.?? We bought him heeley’s for his birthday – doesn’t that seem like a preteen gift at least??? He really wanted them (because Jenna had them).?? He is adorable clodding all over in them.?? Kind of like a two year old in combat boots ๐Ÿ™‚ .?? He isn’t really getting the concept well but he has really been trying and is excited everytime he makes one foot slide without falling.?? Here are a few pictures from his big day:

Funny story about the cake.?? Tanner really wanted a Power Rangers cake and I didn’t feel in the mood to creatively make one so I let him pick one out at Walmart.?? He was really excited about this cake and couldn’t wait to pick it up.?? When it came time to dish it out, I offered him a piece and he gave me a funny look and shook his head no (as in NO WAY).?? WHAT??????? You mean to tell me that YOU insisted on a Power Ranger cake and you won’t eat it??????? He say’s “Mommy.?? I just wanted the little guys on top”.?? That piece of information could have saved me about $24.00 – sheeeesh!

In the background you will see cousins Noah and Zandi.?? This is as good a time as any to share a funny Noah story ๐Ÿ™‚ .?? So after the party, Noah and Tanner were trying out his new bike on the back porch.?? Jim has already been berating himself for waiting until the age of 6 before buying Tanner a bike LOL.?? Daddy is a regular Santa.?? He actually bought….shhhhhh…this is a secret….Sony PCP’s for BOTH of our boys to take on our trip to Boston to keep you know who occupied.?? I ask ya, what three year old in the world needs a Sony PCP??? Jim would say “Clearly Ty”.

Back to my story…so the boys are on the back porch with the bike.?? I am sitting at the kitchen table shooting the breeze with friends Susie and Sarah.?? Tanner starts whining about something so I open the arcadia to check things out.?? Tanner is pushing the pedals the wrong direction and has discovered the pedal brake.?? I had one of those absent professor moments (also had it today when I spent 15 mintues wandering the Walmart parking lot at 9:00 at night looking for my car while pushing two carts grrrrr..).?? I knew what I wanted to say to Tanner but my head was still on my conversation with my girlfriends.?? How can you explain “switching gears” when you are incapable of actually doing it??? LOL.

So I say “Tanner, the bike is stuck because you are braking.?? When you push the pedals backward it brakes”.?? I get a deer in the headlight look.?? Okay that isn’t working.?? I try again.?? “Tanner, what I am telling you is that what you are doing right now is braking the bike.”?? Again a mystified expression.?? “Wait honey.?? I don’t mean YOU are breaking the bike.?? I mean you are making the bike brake.”?? All the while I am saying this, I know I am missing something but can’t quite find it.??

Noah, who is standing behind me then says in a very non dramatic serious voice.?? “Tanner she means stop.?? You are stopping the bike.”??

I laughed so hard I nearly cried.?? Susie and Sarah who heard this were also cracking up.?? So not fun to get straightened out by a 4 year old.?? I truly felt like an idiot in that moment and had to say “Ya.?? That’s a better way to say it.”

This was not the last time I would be giggling at Noah that fine day.?? A while later, I needed a trip to the potty.?? Noah went looking for me and I heard him ask Jim where I was.?? Jim let him know I was unavailable.?? Next thing you know, he throws open the bathroom door and comes to greet me.?? I look at my nephew in surprise (why should I be surprised…like Tanner and Ty don’t do this continuously also)…and say “Noah!?? Sissy is kind of busy right now.”?? His response??? He shoves a sippy in my hand and say’s “I know but I need a drink”.?? LOL.????Am I ever going to get any privacy??? EVER?

Uncle David needed a little nap but Karsyn wasn’t big on that idea.

This picture for the Grace Gals.?? Several AZ members were at Tanner’s party.?? From left to right:?? Sarah (JustSarah), Susie, Amanda, Doni, Kristi, Aunt Beck, and Sweetie.?? I haven’t posted this on??Grace4Today yet but I intend to.?? We are having a pink pajama party tomorrow night so I should have more AZ Gal pictures posted on Grace soon.
