Indulgent in Black and White

The black and white just changes the mood of these shots don’t you think?

I love how kids shed light on your very best qualities.

In the car…

Me:?? Are you getting your seat belt on?

Tori:?? Yes but I am not done yet so don’t start driving until I tell you I am finished.

Me:?? I won’t!?? (Grrrrrr…as if!)

Tori:?? And don’t say “Are you done yet??? Are you done yet??? Are you done yet??? Are you done yet??? I’ll let you know when I am ready.”

Mostly she is MY daughter but sometimes she is her father’s daughter.

********************

Tori:?? Mommy when I go to heaven and see Jesus will I see Poppy there?

Me:?? Yes.

Tori:?? Is he still your dad?

Me:?? He is still my Grandpa and he will be so happy to see you.

Ty:?? Mommy what does Jesus look like?

Tori:?? You know Ty!?? You see pictures of him in our bible!

Jim:?? Tori those pictures are just what some people think he looks like.

Tori:?? Well it would make me happy if he DOES look like that.

LOL.?? Sounds exactly like something my mother would say.?? Come to think of it, I am certain she has.

***********************

Tori:?? Can I let a balloon go outside?

Me:?? Just one.

She comes back in a few minutes later.

Tori:?? I asked Jesus to give that balloon to Poppy.

Me:?? Oh that was sweet of you.

Tori:?? Can I have one more??? I should give one to Jesus too.

*********************************

In the shower…

Tori:?? So what’s your plan?

Me:?? Well first I am going to take a shower.

Tori:?? Check.?? Your doing that.?? What else?

Then she went through her elaborate plan for the day.?? Asking me my daily plan has become her habit.?? Pretty cute.

*************************

Recently I had a tearful day.?? When Ty came across me during a very sad moment, I watched him stare in bewilderment but he never said a word.?? Just went on with his day.?? Tori, however, approached like this:

“Are you crying?”

“Yes”

“Why are you crying?”

“Because I am just having a sad day.”

“Can you talk to me about it?”

LOL.?? She is pure adorable.

  1. Are you kidding me, two in one day? Do you understand how deeply and completely I am in love with your sweethearts? 1st – Troy is GORGEOUS! I love these pictures and think they are on top with my favorites of him. 2nd – Tori and Ty’s conversations with you are so precious…except this time they were so tender and close to my heart! Doni, thankyou for keeping Poppy “alive” to your children even though only Tanner had the pleasure of hearing his laugh and feeling his hugs! And last – I love how Jesus is right there in the middle of your teaching and introducing and more importantly giving them a chance at a real and growing relationship with our Heavenly Daddy! Great postings today – I can now try to go to sleep thinking happy thoughts of the Brinkman children’s antics – love them!

  2. Gorgeous pictures, he sure is beautiful. Cute cute stories. I wish I could have hugged you on your sad day. Love you!
