Fall Pictures 2012

Back in early September I took Fall pictures of the kids. ??I knew that once my Fall season hit, I wouldn’t have time to do them. ??I finally got them processed today (just in time before I shoot Christmas pictures in the next couple of weeks). ??Enjoy!

I have lots of kid stuff to share and don’t feel like organizing my thoughts so I am just going to randomly fire away…

Tori: ??Mommy I put a little bit of water in Barbie’s hair so it would be fresh and clean and then I brushed all the brats out.

(Rats used to be “Nuts” – now they are “Brats”. ??Brats make a lot more sense to me considering the context.)

Tori: ?? Mommy? ??Was I raised by wolves?

Me: ??Uh. ??No. ??Did your brothers tell you that?

Tori: ??No. ??I was just wondering.

Glad we got that all settled.

Tori: ??Mommy Jarrod has his ears pierced.

Me: ??I know. ??I would prefer earrings just be for girls though (sorry Jarrod!)

Tori: ??Daddy has his ears pierced.

Me: ??I know but that was a long time ago and Daddy doesn’t wear earrings anymore. ??(Yes I did use the plural form. ??Three holes to be exact.)

Tori: ??Well I am glad you are still married.

Did she think that would be a deal breaker? ??Guess I haven’t come as far down the road of grace as I thought hee hee.

Troy is our sensitive little guy so far. ??He hates for anyone to get upset. ??Tori, being very girly, emotes over EVERYTHING. ??Lately, we have noticed that Troy cries when Tori does and often climbs in her lap to comfort her. ??Apparently, our little girl is feeling guilty about this because the other night we heard her say “Oh no Troy! ??I am okay! ??I was just kidding.” ?? Tender conscience?

Troy words lately: ??Daddy; Eat; Pizza; Oh No; Noni Noni Noni (naughty naughty naughty); Up; I did it (I think he is saying that); Dat (that)

When he cries, he says “Oh No!” in the saddest little cry voice and he just keeps repeating it. ??Hysterical. ??I have to catch this on video.

Tanner to Ty: ??HEY! ??You can’t just throw trash down on the floor after I just cleaned!!!!

Ohhhhhhh reaaaaallllly?????

Ty after cleaning: ??Mom that was EXHAUSTING!

We have discovered that Ty loves…wait for it…Elevator Music. ??Weird huh? ??We bought him this electronic drum set last year (that he doesn’t really play with) that has background tracks on it that are like elevator blues. ??He loves it. ??He came out and told me recently that he really likes Elevator music (sometimes he calls it Hotel music). ??I mentioned to Jim that I thought he would probably love the Peanuts soundtrack because it kind of has that bluesy feel. ??The Holiday Peanuts track came on the radio in the car and I was not surprised at all when Ty shouts “WAIT! ??I like this music!!!” ?? ??Too funny.

Tori: ??Hhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy ?? ggggiiiiirrrrllllfriend! ??(Then she whispers…) because you ARE my girlfriend AND my mom right?

Tori has been loving to wrestle lately but I get aggravated every time I see it because her brothers are going to accidentally hurt her. ??I told her that she was not allowed to wrestle with anyone except her Daddy. ??Now she asks Jim ALL the time to wrestle with her. ??She loves it. ?? I didn’t like to be held down and tickled as a kid but Tori just eats it up.

She has also started playing Minecraft with Tanner. ??She is building quite well I think for a four year old. ??I love to see her typing instant messages to Tanner to. ??Tanner ends up with a screen of dialogue that looks like this “salkjdfaidiaii aidadifadfjajdfjas ??isdiaodfjadjfjdfj”. ?? He just smiles.

The other morning I noticed Tori was having a bit of a gas problem. ??I finally said “Whoa! ??What is going on?” ??She says very practically “I think my food is having a party in there!”

While working, I turn in my chair and notice baby wipes from the diaper bag strewn all over the floor and Troy and Tori busy wiping down the fireplace. ??I get after them for getting out all the baby wipes and Tori says “Well! ??We just got a LOT of work!”

I agree. ??It WOULD take a lot of baby wipes to clean this house indeed.

Tori: ??Mommy you have big bangs!

No. ??I am not sporting an 80s throwback hairstyle. ??I learned earlier in the week that she calls dimples bangs when she pointed out her dimples to me.

Too grown up huh?

Above picture is just a bit sassy for a 4 year old. ??She sure makes me giggle. ??Sweetie advised against that outfit with boots once we both watched Little Miss pull out her America’s Top Model performance. ??Live and learn.

This week she changed her dolly’s name from Katy Perry to James Bond. ??Hmmmm…

Troy saw the Opthamologist this week and it was determined that surgery won’t happen until late spring or early summer MAYBE. ??His left eye is still not focusing well enough to do surgery. ??The patching 3 hours a day continues. ??The glasses are just a nightmare too because we are constantly having to put them back on. ??The worst thing about this is that he is smart enough to hide them. ??It has gotten to the point where we have regular search parties scheduled and we each take a room and scour it. ??To date we have found glasses in the following places: ??kitchen trash cabinet, office trash, bathroom trash, toy box, laundry basket, homeschool cabinet, under a stack of towels in the bathroom pantry (I found that one and Jim was impressed!). ?? SO AGGRAVATING!!!

Our little monkey loves to unload the dishwasher (much to our dismay). ??We have tried and tried to keep him out but nothing is working. ??I video taped him yesterday because he got himself stuck. ??We had chairs blocking the dishwasher but he still managed to get the door down to a 45 degree angle. ?? He had climbed in and was laying on the tilted door (supported by my laid down chairs) with the top dishwasher rack pulled out. ?? ??I have no idea how to stop this short of my old faithful resource – duct tape.

Tanner and I were laughing in the dentists office this week because Troy laid down every child chair in the place. ?? Tanner thought that Troy was feeling powerful taking the chairs out of use for all the patrons. ?? (If I haven’t mentioned it, we don’t leave any chairs standing in our house at this point because he is too much of a climbing risk).

And now to get working on Christmas pictures!

  1. Laid down chairs don’t always work :(. Coop has always been a crazy climber so like you we laid all the chairs on their sides. It worked for a while and then he started climbing those. Then he got his first set of stitches :(. Good luck sis.

  2. Beauitful! Their personalities really come shining through in these! I loved looking at the images and reading your stories. So wonderful to see those adorable faces on my computer this morning!

  3. I love these pictures and stories so much. What a treasure to read your “book” one day and for your children to read the words their mama wrote for them – precious!
