So I invited Jim in to see my latest creation and he said “I love the design but that is tooooo creepy”.?? The full size version looks better but you can kinda see the displacement of tiger, giraffe and zebra on our trio picture.?? Ty and I think it’s fun and Tanner and Jim think it’s too creepy.?? I made another one WITHOUT the Island of Dr. Moreau effect (LOL) and now will have to decide which to use for my DVD album.?? Maybe I will fade one into the other because 50% of this household got a giggle out of it.?? Keep in mind, I am a mother of B O Y S so a little “creep” effect is okay!!!?? I need to increase my blog width so I can put wider pictures up.?? Here is a closer up so you can get a better look see at the displacement.

Inspiration:?? I had time to play with this during the afternoon when Jim was playing Halo with the kids.?? In the car earlier I was looking at the back of the DVD cover for the movie “Sydney White” and I liked the pink waves, the couple on white, and the film strip through the center where every picture blended into one another.???? It’s funny how often times I am inspired by another creation but my end product still becomes something unique.?? DVD boxes and DVD menus are always good for inspiration I think.?? Now I need to go figure out dinner.

Yeah, it is very Dr. Moreau! My vote…creepy. I think it is a fun idea, but somehow the stipes are fun on you, but the giraffe on Ty feels very Star Trekky (*note to Heidi…Trekky 🙂 ) and creepy. Sorry to vote for the boring one :)! I am usually more daring!

ah yes – why couldn’t dinner creation be so easy (and inspirational!!!) it IS indeed creepy – but so fun! i think using both is the key… i like the wave and film strip look too.

Okay the longer I look at it, I admit…it’s creepy. Still it was fun to try. 🙂 And Heidi….I am not a die hard trekky but I have seen all the movies and watched a healthy percentage of the old Star Trek. I didn’t see as many of New Generation though I will never forget that when Jim and I went on our first date he told me he thought I looked like Deanna Troy. 🙂 I would blame my love of sci-fi/fantasy stuff on my dad and uncle. Dad was the trekky/star wars guy so I watched it with him. Uncle Dave was in to “harder core” stuff. 🙂 When I was in elementary school, he let me stay up late one night and watch Beast Master with him. Even as a child I loved that movie. It is really pretty creepy but it was like this guilty pleasure even in childhood. Weird. 🙂

i think i’ve been told i look like the same woman – someone on star trek (didn’t watch it so wasn’t sure) by several people in years past… not recently. funny though.

HOLY COW AMERICA!!!! Since our trip to WA DC, this is the first time to MY knowledge that Jim has ever even LOOKED at this blog!!! If it weren’t for your note Heidi, I would have never known!!!! So while I am sitting in the ER with Tanner getting two staples in his head, Jim checks out my blog and complains about my creative graphic creations. Sheeshhh. (Love you babe).
