Tori weighs 5 pounds 11 ounces now.?? The Dr. appointment went well yesterday.?? The Dr. does want me to keep her in through RSV season.?? Her due date was March 20th and hopefully the season winds down at the end of March.????
Awww!?? She was awake for about 1 hour and 45 minutes when I took these pictures today!?? That is the longest I have seen her eyes open.??
This was Ty’s wub a nub!?? I need to order a girl one!?? She doesn’t really care for pacies but she does love this red dog pacy.?? The strange thing is the other pacy’s are exactly the same.?? Apparently she is a puppy lover.?? 🙂

In attendance for her first bath:?? Jim, Doni, Dusty and Michelle.?? I was told by her foster family that she did NOT like bath time so I decided to try a swaddle bath.?? A trick I learned in the NICU with Ty.?? If you wrap them in a receiving blanket and immerse them in warm water, they tend to be much happier.?? As you are about to see…she loved it…til’ I took her out.?? :)?? Can you believe she fit in that bowl??? LOL.??

Michelle and I were DYING laughing after her bath and I didn’t get a picture of what had us in hysterics.?? Jim didn’t like how I was combing her hair so we were debating what to do with it.?? Finally I just mussed it a bit and left it having no other idea.?? When it dried, every piece of hair on her head stood on end.?? She looked like a newborn chick all fluffy.?? It was sooooooo funny!?? I need to do this to her again and take a picture.?? Funniest ever!?? I guess I need to apply a teeny amount of oil after I was her hair??? What to do??? I can’t even tell you how funny.
After reviewing all these pictures again, I am crying.?? I have been soooo emotional the last three days.?? They are happy happy happy joy tears though.?? She has so filled my heart – I can’t get enough of her.?? I can’t even describe the great depths of what I feel for this little one (but every new mom knows EXACTLY what I am talking about! 🙂 ).

For the last few months, we have been praying for “our baby” every night with the kids.?? I have told them that God knows what He is doing when He designs families and that we were asking Him to choose just the perfect baby to be ours and we wanted to be the perfect choice for the baby.?? After Tori came home, Tanner and I were talking and I said “Tori is so special because God hand picked her for us just like we asked Him to.?? He thinks she is going to be a great treasure for us.???? I am so anxious to get to know her because it will be so fun to learn all the ways why God thought she was so perfect for me and daddy and you and Ty.”??
Yesterday on the way to Grammy Rene’s, Tanner said in the car (out of the blue with no former reference save the above earlier discussions):

I am amazed at the alertness of this sweet girl at such a young age! She is wide eyed and focused on her surroundings more than a 40 weeker! Just amazing!

I saw this little bitty head sticking up out of a bowl and I actually did a double take 🙂 How adorable is she! Love the pictures,she sure is precious!!!

It is amazing how much she looks like you Doni!! People often tell us how the twins look so much like Matt and me – I just tell them that God knew they would be ours even before they were created. I think it is awesome how He does that! She is beautiful – I know you are enjoying every minute of it.
This is what you need for her hair – it’s called Baby Hair Lotion. My mom used it on me and my sister and it was called nestles curls back then. My sister found it online for Brooklyn. It smells great just like a sweet baby should. Anyway it helps hair lay down and even gives it some curl. It’s in a yellow box and has a baby on the front holding a duck. I am going to Dallas tomorrow to see my sister and will be back on Wed. I have three boxes of this stuff and it will last a LONG time so I will mail you one next week so you can try it out. I’ll also have to put some bows in the mail for you.
Oh and Tori just gets cuter!! What a great idea about the swaddle bath. Love her pictures 🙂
Its interesting, the swaddle bath is how they teach us to bathe babies in Japanese hospitals. Now of course I learned this in NICU but its not limited to preemies as they teach the same thing to all new moms. My friend told me that’s how they bathe babies in Korea too!
The picture of her in the bowl is so cute! I can’t believe she fit in that!!! She is just so sweet, Doni…wish I were in AZ so I could come snuggle her for a bit! 🙂 And you just keep crying, mama…these days are priceless treasures and if tears are part of it, so be it!!! 🙂 love ya!!!

I swaddled the twins in the sink like that, of course they were preemies too. But when I had Luke he liked it just as much. It was just easier for me to use the blankets around them, something to hold on to instead of slippery skin.
She is so precious!!! I can’t wait to meet her.
Doni, Jim, Tanner and Ty – Congrats to you!!! Tori is just so precious! I haven’t been on this week your site all week which is unusual as I am typically checkin daily…but am getting ready for a vacation so I have been BUSY….imagine my surprise as I pop on for a moment to see if there are any posts before I go and I sit her in tears and awe of your precious gift!
