The Incident at Table Mesa

??

I intended to write about this Monday but I got a bit sidetracked.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

On Saturday Jim and I took our Suzuki Samari and went 4 wheeling with the boys out by Table Mesa.?? No sooner do we get out there and have lunch but have to turn around and head back to Phoenix to take Tanner to urgent care.

Instead of telling you what happened, I am going to show you because I just happened to be filming.?? This was luckier than you know because being the oldest of five, I know how these stories get turned around 20 years later as to “who” was to blame.?? Ty was initially getting an ear full for throwing a rock – a large rock – at Tanner but when mama reviewed the tape in the car….I voted for a full aquittal.??

Watch??the video and you be the judge.?? ๐Ÿ™‚ Video can be found off our video page HERE.

I didn’t realize how injured Tanner was when I was filming.?? Even though I was filming, I wasn’t focused on the rock hit so I actually kinda missed what happened and didn’t know what Tanner was crying about.?? I must have been filming but looking elsewhere.?? When Tanner came to me with blood seeping through that hat I just knew our first set of stitches (staples) was on its way.?? Boys.?? Sheeesh.?? It could have been MUCH worse though and I think that hat probably helped buffer the blow a bit.

  1. this is SOOOO NOOOOT FUNNY – SO WHY DID I GIGGLE??? if i didn’t know how bad the injury was, maybe i could justify it – or maybe because i know he’s alright it’s ok? or maybe because i was around when you walked through the twisting of some of these stories with your brother and my laughter comes to the years ahead of now in advance?

Good gracious that Ty has an arm on him! To injure Tanner that badly THROUGH a hat is crazy! Be sure you get that boy into baseball – he might make a great pitcher. But I highly doubt Tanner is gonna wanna be a catcher in his games!!!

I’m very glad he’s ok… and Tanner, your Auntie loves you very much. I’m so sorry you got hurt.

It was definitely a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time!

  2. So sorry as I, too, laughed a little. Not really funny but it is. Can’t believe you got it on video!
That video might win those boys some money if there is such a thing as “funniest home videos” anymore.
Glad it was only two staples…without the hat it would have been much worse!

  3. LOL. As Aunt Christine would say, it really was a “wicked” throw but had Tanner not tripped…all would have been well. Poor Ty getting the blame for what really was NOT his fault. And I laughed watching the video too. Couldn’t help it either.

  4. Totally was NOT Ty’s fault. He was only “skipping” rocks like his daddy was, when Tanner walked innocently IN FRONT of him – not done on purpose!!!! Poor Tanner, but poor Ty too!!!!!!

  5. Wow poor Tanner. If he is anything like my youngest Dillan, there will be more of that some day. Dillan had 3 sets of stitches before he was 4. Boys will be boys. Hope he is feeling better.

  6. Oh Tanner you poor little guy, I am so sorry. That must have hurt, but I am proud of you by running off and not attacking Ty.Even though it was not Ty’s fault I bet he felt kinda bad. I know those staples can be pretty scary, but it look’s like you made it. You’ll be o.k., and you’ll have one good story to tell when you are all grown up.

  7. That was a wicked throw! Seriously, get Ty into baseball ASAP! Maybe he’ll play for the Red Sox someday!!! : )Poor Tanner! Wrong place wrong time. Give him a kiss for me!

  8. Add me to the laughed a little group!

You really should add some of that old silent movie piano music to the clip! You know the kind that starts off slow and unassuming and then speeds up frantically! For some reason when Tanner was running around holding his head that is what it reminded me of! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Poor Tanner!
