Simple Pleasures Collection 3

On this last day of the Simple Pleasures Collection, I thought I would post the “before” she fell asleep pictures.?? She looks like she is eyeing me suspicially doesn’t she?

Practicing her wink…or is she snarling at me??? LOL

And she is out….

I am working on her nursery finally.?? I have gone back and forth over the years trying to decide how I would someday decorate my baby girls room.?? When I was in Boston this summer and saw “the” hat – the pink one with the brown polka dot ribbons…I was inspired.?? I knew then that I wanted a pink and brown room.?? Actually, I guess Braxtyn’s room was my first inspiration.?? Brooke went with a peachy/pink and chocolate and did vintage cowgirls.?? The polka dots though came from the hat.

My Mother in Love has a hundred talents…including painting and sewing.?? She has to fly back to Chicago come beginning of May so we are on the clock to get this done.??

I have submitted my room “blueprints” to her and she will be getting back to me on ordering details soon.?? I think I am going to paint her walls in a soft baby pink and then put pink and chocolate random polka dots on it.?? Through the middle will be a thick chocolate stripe with a soft pink stencil of a verse on the crib wall and her name on the other walls.??

The crib comforter will be a patchwork of brown with pink polka dots; pink with brown polk dots; pink and brown stripes, pink and brown minky dot, pink and brown chamuese satin, and two different pink/brown prints.?? (And when I say brown I mean “chocolate” deep brown).

The crib??bumpers and the diaper changing pad will be reversible.?? One side pink with brown polka and then other side brown with pink polka.?? The crib skirt will be layered with both polka patterns.?? The fan and shelves will be painted chocolate and I will add pink polkas to the fan.?? (Yes Heidi I am actually considering a chandeliar instead but I also hesitate to take the fan out of this room – haven’t decided yet).??

The curtains will be pink satin and sheer panels with a big pink brown polka ribbon bow tie back.??

Think I am going to love it!?? I ended up moving the playroom to the John Deere room and Tori is getting the playroom.?? I couldn’t stand the thought of taking that John Deere room down so I ended up trading.?? Tanner and Ty are now sharing a room and both of them are quite happy with the arrangement (for now LOL).

And no…I have not forgotten that I need to change the pictures on the header of this blog and my website to reflect the newest family addition. :)????That is on my list.?? :)??

  1. you can always do a small chandelier – mini version – in a corner, over a dresser or rocker… something as a secondary light but that accents the pretty girly stuff all the while keeping your fan! it could be wired to plug into an outlet – hang off a scrolly post from the wall, be a floorlamp or dresser lamp…. so many options beyond traditional… heck… you could make a mini lightweight (for safety) chandelier over her crib instead of a mobile. ๐Ÿ™‚ so many options!

her room is going to be so beautiful.

and yes – i think it was a snarl. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Sounds like a very pretty and girly room. I can’t wait to see pictures or better yet see it in person.
I love the pictures. You are so talented.
I hope everyone is feeling better. We just went through a horrible week with all 3 boys. I can’t imagine having a newborn baby and trying to deal with it all.
Is Sweetie still over loving on that sweet baby girl?

  3. Sounds so amazing and so girly, love it. Gives me wonderful ideas ๐Ÿ™‚ Cant wait to see the finished product. Love all the pictures of your precious angel with her eyes open. Love Em!
