Gimme Some Sugar 2

Look at those bright eyes!

Tori had her cardiologist appointment on Tuesday, March 18th and it went very well.?? The Dr. said that (a) her valves are still small and the “rushing” of blood sound he hears is partly from that.?? This is not an issue.?? As she grows, those valves will get bigger (b) Tori has an Atrial Septal Defect.?? Sounds bad but thankfully it isn’t.?? She DOES have a hole in her heart like he thought BUT it is very very small.?? This hole is between the left and right hemisphere of the heart as I explained a couple of posts back.?? Because it is so small, heart surgery will NOT be necessary.?? As she grows it will get even smaller and possibly even close.?? Even if it doesn’t close all the way, it is small enough that it will not ever create any issues for her.?? When her first told me that she did have a heart defect, I felt this instant panic rising but as he explained, I was just thanking the Lord that, He mercifully covered even this.?? We are so grateful!

I just love this Naartjie outfit on her. 🙂

When I wrote this post title I was thinking of my Poppy.?? Poppy has been gone for almost five years now.?? He used to always say “Gimme Some Sugar”.?? Wish I still could.?? Someday….

My initial idea for this shoot was to put her in one of my metal pink buckets with that flower cap on so it looks like she is a budding flower but then as I thought it through, I worried myself sick about what if the bucket tipped while she was in it and could Tanner really be depended upon to sit right by her and interrupt the shot if necessary to rescue sister??? I decided to wait for Jim and not chance it.?? Sometimes it takes more than one able bodied assistant to do this.?? I’ll try again another time.

  1. somehow it’s still so cute when they get overwhelmed with our photo shoots. 🙂 hee hee… love the flower pot idea.

i’m so thankful for your good news today… God has been so gracious to your little darling.

  2. Georgia had a hole in her heart, too, when she was born. We went to the cardiologist and the whole deal. I don’t remember what it was diagnosed as (could probably look in her baby book but I’m lazy right now:), but the doc told me it would likely close by the time she was 6 months. I prayed over her every night with my hand on her chest asking God to heal her heart. The hole was gone at 6 months! Actually all three girls have visited the cardiologist at some point for murmurs… wonder if this is a common thing?

Glad to hear that her diagnosis seems similar! LOVE the photos – I especially love the one with her feet in socks… theres just something about those little socks on those little feet:)

  3. Tori was so cute today at aunt dee’s and has the biggest smile I just can’t get over how cute she looks. Big brouther to the rescue lol that was funny. She looks so cute all bundled up in a ball that was just so precious.I was saying to Tanner how much she looks like you and Tanner said “it is like God planned it out from the beginning” I was impressed of what Tanner said.:)

  4. I love your phot shoots, no wonder you don’t get bored in your house! You have too many projects going on! Noah is missing Tanner, he keeps asking when he will be at AIT. We can’t wait until we are all healthy enough to visit again and she is big enough to come see us!
    Love and miss you
