Baby Shower II

Tori and I at the baby shower.?? And I must agree…she does look like her mama. :)?? Actually though, she looks even more like Sweetie than she does me.???? Sweetie thinks so too.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

??

Used texture overlays on these pictures to??minimize distracting backgrounds.?? Worked pretty nicely I think.

Tori received her 2 month immunizations today.?? She cried cried cried all the way home.?? (And yes Susie I did remember to give her Baby Tylenol BEFOREHAND this time but I am not sure it helped).?? She is finally sleeping in her swing while I have computer time.?? Tanner is up north fishing with Papa today at Lake Mary and Ty is occupied for now…so yeah for me.

Her stats today were:

Age:?? 10 weeks (today)
Weight:?? 10 pounds 11 ounces – 26%
Height:?? 22.5 inches – 48%
Head:?? 14.75 – 10%

NOT BAD!?? Tanner was 9 pounds 11 ounces and 22.25 inches at BIRTH!?? Weird that she is only 1 pound bigger than her brother at 2.5 months!?? She can still wear newborn clothes even.????Tanner has seemed a bit worried about her shots today.?? He was asking me about them last night before he left with Papa. ??Sweetie told me he was talking to her about them to her too so he must have been feeling some apprehension about being away from her on an immunization day LOL.?? He is so precious.

Tori is doing so well!?? The only thing I mentioned to the Dr. today is that she seems unresponsive to some sensory things (keep in mind I have another SPD child so I know about this one).

*?? She doesn’t startle when I turn the hair dryer or vacuum cleaner on.?? This wouldn’t have caught my attention on its own because these sounds can be like white noise for babies but add it to a few other things and it makes me wonder.

*?? The house alarm went off this weekend and it was L O U D!?? Tori didn’t even blink or react to it all.?? Meanwhile Ty was running through the house covering his ears screaming for someone to do something.???? This really caught my attention because it was too loud to ignore.

*?? I have taken her out on windy days and she has no response – usually newborns and little ones will catch their breath.

*?? This morning I held her in the shower with me to save time.?? When washing her hair, I let the water run down into her face (this wasn’t intentional).?? I expected her to really scream at me but she didn’t even react.?? She just blinked the water out of her eyes and ignored it.?? I even HATE water running down my face like that as an adult.?? I thought that was kind of strange.

In all likliehood she is just Miss Mellow…but I am making a mental note of these things to watch.????I don’t??think it’s hearing related because (a) she is so talkative and responsive to me and seems to follow my voice and (b) I assume she passed the newborn hearing screen or they would have told me right??? Her pediatrician agrees that we need to keep observing this because it could be signs of sensory seeking SPD behavior.?? If it is….well…we already know about that one and it is defintely manageable – at least Ty’s is so hopefully she would have only a mild dose of it as well.?????? If she were unresponsive to people I would be VERY concerned but thankfully, she is very sociable.?? More so all the time.?? In fact, being greeted with a big wide smile at 6:00 AM is a wonderful way to start my morning.?? Ty telling me this morning that he just loves to kiss me was pretty nice too.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

Poor baby girl, I wish those darn shots could be a little easier on the tiny ones, at least she has her mama’s arms to be comforted in, have Jim run by Starbucks and you’ll be fine.

  6. Doni,

I love these mother/daughter shots – you both look B E A U T I F U L!!! I love how the Lord planned for Tori and that she fits right in and looks like family. I so see my sister in her – especially her little girl pictures. I love how you faded the background and I love Tori all in white. Enjoy it now, white is not a color my children could ever wear!!!! What a treasure.
