Oh. My. Word.

Troy is two.?? No doubt.

I was already pulling my hair out BEFORE the chocolate milk disaster because the day before he had figured out how to crawl out of his crib.?? BUMMER!!!!?? Tanner was the only other one of my kids to crawl out and then we had to deal with his night time visits FOREVER.???? I had Jim remove the crib rail because I didn’t want my little monkey to get hurt on his escapades.

He kept getting in trouble for coming out of his room but I had to giggle at the way he would approach us in the front room with a nervous posture but a maniacal giggle.?? He couldn’t decide if he was more concerned about getting in more trouble or deliriously giddy that he could get out of bed.???? And of course, he was in my bed at 6:00 AM.???? Sigh.???? I also found him wandering the house at 2:00 AM looking for his puppy.?? He found it and went right back to sleep (thankfully).???? Early this morning, an aggravated Ty woke me up demanding that I remove Troy from HIS bed.?? Troy must have been worried that I would put him back to bed so he thought he would try crawling into bed with Ty.?? Won’t surprise me if tomorrow morning Tori finds herself with a little guest in bed.

As for the pictures???

Found him like this at the kitchen table.?? SOMEONE. FORGOT. AND. LEFT. A. CHAIR. UP.!!!!

THIS is exactly why all the chairs in our house are STILL laying on their sides on the floor.?? He just destroyed that (very large) container of chocolate milk.?????? Such a mess!!!

Just a couple of other short things…

Troy has an amazing attention span just like Tanner did as a baby.?? I love it when he sits in my lap during processing time and watches his shows (Curious George and Garfield primarily).?? I took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 and he did awesome.

***********

I love how he shows me his “sorrys” instead of his “owies”.

He is making me crazy with his refusal to wear his glasses and patch.?? This week I have put probably 10 patches on PER DAY.?? Every time I get after him and give him the “YOU. CANNOT. REMOVE. YOUR.?? PATCH.” speech, he looks at me innocently and says, “K”.?? And then he takes it off again minutes later.?? We don???t take him out of the house with his glasses on anymore because replacing his glasses is just too expensive.???? The whole thing makes me worry that his surgery will just keep getting delayed.?? I am really trying my best to keep him patched 5 to 8 hours a day but it is so HARD.?? I feeling really bad for my baby too.?? Not fun.

And just a bit about Tori…

Tori:?? How did your shoot go this morning?

Me:?? Good.

Tori:?? Did the sun rise?

*****

Tori is a list maker just like her mama.?? I crack up at how often she is checking things off her lists (especially since she can’t yet spell).

I told her that she and Ty HAD to find Troy’s pacy the other night before bed.?? Next thing I know, she has a picture map that she has drawn of the house and she is checking off each spot one by one that she and Ty looked in.???? She did find it too.

I took her to the grocery store with me tonight and she carried a pen and clip board so that she could check off all the groceries as we shopped.?? She loved it.

I so “get” her.???? There is something almost euphoric about check marks.?? They just might be one of my favorite things in the world.

  1. Doni, didn’t God fit you with Tori so perfectly???!!! I love the pattern he knit in the womb using patterns that would intricately fit and fill you with the joy a daughter brings. Watching you and your mama makes complete sense of you and Tori…the next generation!
