This might be??a tad irreverant but she is a little young for the “respect the Flag” lesson yet.?? ๐
Beautiful beautiful beautiful.?? ๐
I love the “photo journalistic” style of the last two pictures – just very in the moment capturing the kids talking to each other.?? This is THE LAST of this series so this week I’ll post camping pictures.?? I am working on Ryker’s pictures tonight.

Yesterday Tori was not letting me drink my ice water in silence so I finally caved and let her see if she could sip from my cup.?? She could.?? Then she screamed to high heaven when I took my glass away.?? That was stupid of me.??
Jim has nicknamed her “Lazy Susan” lately because she can get nearly anywhere spinning in circles.?? (Do you know what a Lazy Susan is?)
This week she managed to get a good two feet off her playmat and was trying to press the red light on our speakers.?? Great.?? Another button pusher.?? Just what we need.
About an hour ago, I had her on her play mat in my bedroom and within minutes she worked herself off of it and was trying to get into a box of books and trying to eat computer chords.?? Yikes.?? She is so quick to get into mischief already.?? She is nearly out of her bumbo at this very minute – pause to remedy that – now she is in my lap and wants the mouse – sheesh Louise.?? She is sooo sooo close to an army crawl and it is frustrating her that she can’t quite get it.

Following is a conversation with my SIL from this afternoon.?? I have mentioned before that I come from a family of “shoe snobs” of which I am the lowly outcast.?? Conversations such as these are fairly typical.?? This may not be verbatim but the heart of the conversation is definitely there.?? ๐
Scene:?? After morning church standing under the front pavillion.
Doni:?? Shoot!?? I just broke the heel off my shoe.
Brooke:?? How did you do that?
Doni:?? I don’t know I was just standing her and it broke off.??
Brooke:?? Can you fix it?
Doni:?? No but maybe I can break the heel off the other shoe and have two flats to get me home.?? (That??didn’t work).
Brooke:?? That’s too bad because those shoes weren’t half bad.
Doni:?? Yes and they were only about a year old.?? See this is why I shouldn’t stray from Payless because my cheap shoes seem to last forever.
Brooke:?? Because you wear them until they fall apart.
Doni:?? Well this is not good because I don’t want my shoes to interrupt my lunch plans.
Brooke:?? Well you better cross Olive Garden off your list.?? Looks like it is Taco Bell for you.?? :).?? Pam gave me a pair of shoes today – maybe they will fit you.
(Tried on shoes – they worked)
Brooke:?? Here is what I don’t get though.?? If God was going to prearrange a solution to your shoe problem, you would have thought He would have color coordinated.?? (Black dress, brown sandals).?? Pause.?? Well…I guess He didn’t because….well…it’s you.
LOL.?? Whatever.?? ๐

Hahahahahaha!! I’m sorry I missed this today! Too funny! Forget those shoe snobs! ๐ Payless shoe girls….UNITE!
your pitiful shoes are endearing to me… the more pitiful, the more endearing… and, besides, you make me feel better about LIVING in my crocs flip flops ALL SUMMER LONG. life is too short for uncomfortable shoes – ESPECIALLY when they are too expensive to begin with! Jimmy Choo’s (sp?) – FUHGETABOUTIT!!!!!! ๐
oh- and tori – she sounds amazing! i’m imagining a superyard gated community for her. ๐ (and as to respect the flag, well, there is ‘within reason’ coming to mind… nothing makes that flag more beautiful than the children for which it stands wrapped up in it. ๐ )
You know I love you! And those brown shoes looked cute on you anyways! Tori is reminding me of someone that makes mischief at my house…
