Substitutes

??

Gotta love that grunge.??

I love this picture of mama and son.

**********

Going to lunch with Papa and Sweetie so no time for blogging today.?? One quick funny (though I might should NOT post this).?? Ty is my easier to get forgiveness than permission kid.?? If you tell him he can’t do something, that makes him envy for it all the more.?? Same applies to what he can’t say.?? We have been having talks about the word “stupid”.?? He likes to exercise that one and I have been teaching him that things are stupid and not people (more specifically – Tanner is not stupid hee hee).?? I realize some moms don’t allow the word at all and that approach definitely has merit but I tend to call “things” stupid all the time so this approach makes me look better hee hee.?? Jodi used the word last week (about a THING) and Karsyn looked at me and said “I am not old enough to use that word?? yet”.?? I got a good laugh out of that.??

This week Jim and I were watching tv and I heard Ty chasing Tanner down the hall saying “I am going to KICK YOUR GUS!”?? What??????? I asked him to repeat what he said because it sounded like you know what.?? He repeated “gus” again.?? Jim laughingly defended that it technically fits into the subsititue category but none the less, not a substitue I am okay with.?? If I have to ask “what?” – then don’t say it.?? Tanner said this came from Night at the Museum.?? I don’t recall them saying the “real” thing on that movie.?? Did they and I missed it??? OR…does Mickey Rooney really say “kick your gus?” as Tanner defended?

Boys.?? Sheesh.

P.S.?? Shack study last night was so good.?? I love Thursday nights.?? We spent 2 hours discussing one question with 17 to 19 people but it was well worth it.?? Good times.

  1. My kids watch that movie a lot and I’ve never noticed that saying in there…however, Mickey Rooney’s character’s name is Gus. HMMM? Could there be a connection there? Next time we watch it, I’ll pay closer attention. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. We are battling “Stupid” as well. I have told them countless times the same thing that you said. Things are stupid not people. Of course the twins just don’t get this and they are the ones using it on Luke and each other. I don’t know what’s going to happen at school. They picked this up from watchin pokemon and listening to daddy talk to his video games.

I hope you had a good lunch.

  3. Well….we have a mule named “Gus”, I’m sure they boys have played with him, or at least heard Jenna talking about him, and as we all know, mules are part horse, and part donkey, and the biblical name for donkeys is…well…you get where I’m going with this. So Ty might just be smarter than we all know!!

  4. OH JARROD! YOU ARE ORNERY! I guess it IS a valid defense for the poor child though… even the Bible sometimes is translated with that word… don’t think Ty was being that Biblical though. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

DONI – YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS WITH YOUR PICTURES! YOU HAVE BECOME A MASTER SCRAPPER AND I’M TOTALLY ENVIOUS!!! YOU SURPASS ME IN EVERYTHING WE TRY AND I’M JUST GOING TO KEEP BEING THE SISTER WHO COPIES!!! YOU ARE AMAAAAZING!!!!!!!!!!! LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE WAY YOU ARE USING GRUNGE! LOVE YOUR EDITS IN AAAALL OF THESE!!!!!!!! (I might enlist you to do a book for me one day… I know, when the time? ๐Ÿ™‚ I know paying you wouldn’t be incentive enough… hmmmm… I’ll have to think of something…) ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. We are having the word battle as well. There are just some things that come out of Spencer’s mouth (even tho’ they are not “bad” words) that make me cringe. The other day he referred to Taylor as being “pissy”. I really wanted to laugh myself silly at first but redirected him to use “fussy” instead…

And yes, in case you were wondering Doni, I know ecactly where he heard it first…coulda been worse…lol!
