First of all…I really miss Heidi!?? Hoping she is back online by next week.?? Posting daily isn’t nearly as fun without her input.?? I must need daily affirmation and she is good at giving that hee hee!?? 🙂

Tori is making me crazy.?? Everytime I go to get her she has crawled under something.?? In the last 30 minutes, I have pulled her out from trying to get under the play pen, under my desk at least 3 times and under my end table in my room three times.?? She has something in her mouth every other second and at this very moment I am using my foot to block her from powering off my CPU.?? AAAAAHHHH!!!!!?? She is such a little busy body!

For months, I have been hoping to learn how to do a specific type of digital painting.?? Up until yesterday when I had a break through at about 11:00 PM – it wasn’t going well.?? I’ll post all about that tomorrow.?? Today though…I kept thinking that maybe I needed to try different forms of painting to get more of an artists eye before moving forward on what I really wanted.?? I saw a photo hand painted into an illustration that I thought looked fun and cartoony and also pretty challenging.?? I decided to give a go at it for practice sake.?? I gave up half way through and Jim came in and looked at it, submitted his advice, and encouraged me to finish so that I would have a better idea of how to hand paint in CS3.???? Here was my end result:

This picture is of Braxytn.?? I used the original picture underneath and then used vector shapes to layer Braxtyn together on top.?? There is no part of my original photo in this – it’s all hand done – I just used the original as a guide.?? It’s kind of like color tracing but it was actually really challenging for me.?? The hardest part was choosing colors for all the different shadows and highlights.?? I could really use more work in that area.?? For a “cartoon” look, I think??this is??fun.?? Ty didn’t know what he thought of seeing Braxtyn as a cartoon though.?? Now for what I was REALLY trying to do – which is COMPLETELY different – you’ll have to check back in tomorrow and see if I finished my afternoon project.?? Tanner is off school for one more week so mommy has been IN school during his down time.?? :)??
