My Favorite Tanner Picture

Jim and I keep staring at this painting – we just can’t believe how beautiful Tanner is.?? He is just a stunning child.?? His coloring is simply A M A Z I N G.?? This is the picture I have had in mind for quite some time to paint.?? This picture was taken when Tanner was about 18 months old.?? I had my first digital camara – a Sony Cybershot and I was going crazy with it.?? I took this while he was playing in the playroom and the natural light from the window illuminated him nicely.?? Jim challenged me to replace the background so I wouldn’t be painting a white wall.?? I found a real grungy background and then used a swirly brush to paint it.?? It looks NOTHING like the original now.?? The background was quite fun and Jim was happy with me:).?? I think I want to have this one printed on canvas to see how it looks.?? Mom and I are already scheming about a country photo shoot at her house.?? Something with Tanner, overalls, and??a ceramic red rooster.?? :)?? She wants a country painting for her house and Tanner has such a “country” boy look.

Here is the original SOOC.?? I do keep an edited version that makes his eyes pop more, deeper contrast, and an exposure fix but for the sake of comparison, I decided to post the TRUE original.

Here are some close ups of the painted version:

The possibilities are endless!?? Unfortunately, my time isn’t LOL.?? These take a lot of time to do and thanks to Jim entertaining the kids this evening, I was able to spend a couple hours on this.?? I have a week and a half before I start schooling again.?? Wonder how many more I can get done before then????? ๐Ÿ™‚ :)?? I LOVE THIS!?? LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!

***********************************

Wrote above last week.?? This weekend has been less than fun.?? Friday morning Miss Tori woke up with a 102.6 fever.?? It carried on like that all day.?? She also started choking on mucas scaring her mommy.?? She does not have a runny nose or cough.?? I took her to the Dr. Saturday morning and the Dr. thought she had an upper respiratory infection.?? I was supposed to take her back this morning if her fever wasn’t down.?? This morning her fever was gone so I canceled the apptmnt. By afternoon though she was FUSSY as all get out and hardly ate all day.?? We were scheduled for an 8:00 PM trip to the ER because she went 7 and a half hours before having a wet diaper but she finally did so we avoided that trip (so far).?? She just ate a 5 ounce bottle for me which is great because we have been FIGHTING to get one or two ounces in her at every feeding.?? No she isn’t teething and the Dr. said her throat is fine as with her ears.?? Hope she sleeps better tonight.?? Mama is tired.

P.S.?? I didn’t post this last Friday because too many of my family and friends were out of town camping and I know that Mondays tend to be higher blog hit days and I really didn’t want them to miss this post.?? :)?? I didn’t say that in advance because I try to be cautious to never expose on the world wide web when I or anyone else will be out of town.?? :)?? Fair enough Laurie hee hee?

This “painting” of Tanner is exquisite (sp?). That is the only word I could think of that comes close to describing it! What an amazing talent God has given you AND the gift of such beautiful subject matter!!! lol

  2. I just can’t beleive how amazing it is when you do this technique. Really, it is just stunning!!!!!

  3. The painted technique is soooo awesome, it really just grabs your attention and you have to keep staring at it, Tanner is such a cutie! You really are full of talent Doni!

  4. Doni, that picture is amazing, what a handsome boy! Sorry to hear Tori and Ryker are not feeling well. It is so hard to watch our babies suffer. Darn sickness! Hope she gets better soon, and I am SOOOO glad we did his pictures last week, the hair is crazy!

  5. You are inspireing! I just want to go out and buy the program but I do believe that it is really expensive, right? It just might be worth it though to get pictures like that out of the program with some time and effort on my part of course. I get board of their school pictures. When my parents come next month I was planing on taking the boys to the beach/forest…lol and get some good shots of them.

Well you can make some good money painting other peoples pictures and having them put on canvas. ๐Ÿ™‚ But then it might not start to be fun anymore? Thanks for shareing all your wonderful ideas!

  7. The painting is absolutely beautiful! I can’t stop looking at him – how precious, I’m glad it turned out because we all loved the original picture so much and now it looks unbelivably priceless. You have to print this on canvas. I can’t wait to see all three of your darlings on canvas!!! I am so proud of you. God has truly gifted you in this area and I love how you desire to use this gift for Him. “Father we give You the praise for You are so much more than we can imagine. We thank You for these children and for Doni and Jim and their desire to raise them up to honor You. We also thank You for enabling Doni to pour her heart into documenting the gifts You have given in her children and for teaching us along the way with her wisdom and insights she shares. We praise You, we love You and we thank You for being such a great Daddy…Amen!”
