Does this seem a tad like de ja vu?
This all happened in about 10 minutes best I could tell.?? David told me to start the Benadryl but hold off on the Zyrtec so I could tell if he is going to have break through hives.
Good grief what is with my kids and hives??? He had blue gatorade this morning but he has had that before.
Here is my mama analysis.?? This is the same virus that Tanner had a couple of months ago.?? If you recall, Tanner had the stomach flu and then days later broke into hives.?? We never did know if he was having a food allergy or if it was viral but it did get bad enough to land him in the ER since his face and eyes lips were swelling and that was WITH benadryl.?? Praying that we don’t end up in that situation in the next 24 hours.
I doubt it is a food allergy because it seems to be following the same course that Tanner’s did and considering the fact that my kids don’t share like DNA – they couldn’t possibly both have similar food allergies (Tanner probably drank blue gatorade due to the flu virus then too).
What IS weird though is that no one in my inner circle ever said anything about their kids having the flu and then massive hives afterwords when this happened to Tanner.?? So how could it be happening again to just MY kids??? Rumor has it that one of our friends had their little one end up in the ER with a rash last week and I am wondering if there could be similarities there – checking on that.
Ty’s are clearly no where near where Tanner’s were but it took Tanner about 24 hours before I couldn’t control it with Benadryl so hoping this will not be progressive.?? Ty is scratching til he is bleeding too. You can see a bit of that in the picture above.?? It will be much harder to keep him from this than it was Tanner – he is soooooooo impulsive.
Good times folks.?? Good times.??

Oh gosh, those poor kids. Who knows where this stuff comes from sometimes, its weird and how all of a sudden it pops out of no where. I hope it doesnt get worse. Hugs for the little man 🙂
oh good grief! That poor baby! I wonder if it could be strep or staph based?
Oh poor Ty Jo!! That just looks miserable. I feel for Mama too. Praying he’s better soon!
Hey Doni! There are definitely some weird viruses going around right now. Noah came down with strep throat but instead of having a sore throat it turned into a form of impetigo which is a rash. It covered his chin, around his mouth and up by his nose looking like chicken pox with blisters on top. They he managed to get giant coldsores in the corners of his mouth and his lips were swollen to twice their normal size. He is doing much better now but he hardly ate anything for 5 days due to not being able to open his mouth without cracking the sores. I felt so bad for him.
Praying for Ty….
My goodness! That poor boy. I hope you can find a cure and quick.
