  1. good luck with the shopping for sure! 🙂 i called your house – must be why you didn’t answer. 🙂

i love that i’m getting a glimpse into who they are in these photos. you really do have the gift of capturing the REAL person. that’s part of what i was going to talk to you about this morning… it hit me just how important your gift is. it’s not about capturing memories… it’s not JUST about beautiful imagery and pictures and artwork and giftings… it’s about showing the preciousness (like that word?) of life. in a world where life is oft not respected – especially the lives of those who can’t defend themselves or use their own voice, your photos give ALL of life a voice.

it is part of the fight. your gift is like a weapon against those who strive to silence the voice. it is a shield for the innocent. it truly is a SPIRITUAL gift. amazing how God took the cry of your heart to give a voice to the tiniest of lives and used photography to do it in such a BEAUTIFUL, artistic, and yes, even gratifying way. i imagine it is a little like he felt when he created us in the first place. when he looked and said, “it is good.” i always imagined a big mighty God in a big booming voice with very great seriousness… “IiiiT IIIIS GOOOOD.” but when i look in light of the way He gave US creativity (in His image, after all) and what joy it brings, I imagine the softness of a loving Daddy’s smile, clasping his hands together, then hands on his cheeks with a giggle in his throat, “It is good! Oh my, look at that! Now THAT is good… they are really something… oh I just adore them! They will be my children – oh yes – this creation is special… IT IS GOOD!!!”
