Tanner – bow hunter; Ty – Jack Bauer from 24 (he loves that show); Tori – Good Witch; Troy – a pirate. ??I wanted the fireman costume but he INSISTED on the pirate costume. ??I think he wanted to play with the sword. ??:)

My pirate was woken up from his nap for pictures and was on the grumpy side. ??The pouting pirate is my favorite.

We went to Darin and Jodi’s to trick or treat with our family and friends. ??This year, there were a lot of particularly scary parents greeting kids at the door…grim reapers, faceless people, a scary clown, and even a drunk teddy bear. ?? What is up with parents dressing up to SCARE toddlers? ??I sincerely don’t get it. ??Tori refused to trick or treat at several stops and I didn’t blame her. ??Troy wanted the candy enough that he cautiously approached. ??One house gave him pause though. ??I thought he would choose to skip it but instead he stood at the sidewalk and yelled trick or treat and waited for the woman (who was not dressed as scary) to bring the candy to him. ??I laughed. ??She obliged. ??When she gave him the candy, he pointed to her scary husband and said “Who is THAT?”.

I hate the “scary” aspects of this holiday but the kids love the time spent with family and friends, and dressing up, and yes…trick or treating too. ?? We intended to have Jim carve our pumpkin but we didn’t quite get to that detail this year. ??Bummer.
