Excited!

When I grow up, I want to paint dreamy storybook pictures that celebrate little children living loved.?? Often times I will have ideas in my head but they just don’t pan out the way I pictured.?? THIS TIME however, my end result was just exactly what I wanted.?? It came alive as I painted and took on a story of its own.???? My brother promised me at lunch today that he was going to print a large canvas of this – I really need to look at it on a wall.?? :).???? My little Karsyn is so so beautiful and she was the perfect little model that I needed for this dreamy paint.?? Here is a closeup:

Here are the original pictures I painted and blended together:

This one was a free stock photograph that I saved some time ago.?? Just knew I would need it for something someday.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

This project took me four to five hours.?? I stayed up until 2:00 AM on New Year’s Eve to finish it.?? Check back tomorrow to see my lil’ cowboy.

Today school starts back up so back to my regular routine which likely won’t leave room for much painting but I am going to try to commit to a couple a month so I can keep improving my skills at this.?? I love projects that have endless possibilities.?? ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. ok, you need my comments reserved here with the actually painting post… but how do i possibly choose words? SERIOUSLY? HOW!??!!! oh my… oh my!!!!!! THE POSSIBILITIES AAAARE ENDLESS!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ ok… i think i’ll have to write a storybook so you can illustrate. ๐Ÿ™‚ oh my my my…. this is beautiful.

  2. Doni….this is my favorite of your paintings……of course Darin and Jodi would have it on canvas…it is precious! Now the question is…..do they have two done? One to keep and one to give to Karsyn when she is older? LOVE IT! Since you love painting so much, you should send a few to publishers and see if they are interested in new artists!

  3. I am so in love with this painting. I can’t stop looking at it. I agree there are simply no words that can describe the beauty accurately. Karsyn is such a beauty isn’t she :). Thank you for practicing your idea on my baby and making a picture that we will cherish always. Did I mention how beautiful Karsyn was ๐Ÿ™‚ LOL.

  4. Holy smokes! (Yes, I really do use this expression! LOL!) That “painting” is gorgeous! GORGEOUS!! I love it, Doni! It definitely belongs in a children’s book. Submit it…somewhere!

And, Jodi…What’s that you say? Karsyn’s beautiful? Darn tootin’ she is! She’s a beauty un”painted”, too. Just like her mama! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Thank you ladies! ๐Ÿ™‚ Actually, children’s books is not where my heart is at this stage of life. I would rather sell them as individual pieces in galleries as “art” as opposed to books if I were going that route. BUT that isn’t my goal either – right now I just want to concentrate my efforts on photography and offer painting as an extension of my photography business. Thanks for all the ideas though:) LOL.

  6. I don’t care how much you charge. I am more than willing to send you a picture of my boys (of couse one I took) to get a cavas like that! I also wouldn’t care how long it took you to get it completed. I would wait months for a project like that! It is wordless! Just wonderful Doni! Jere’

  7. Ditto to all the other comments!! Oh my goodness! That is absolutely amazing!!! Beautiful work. Also the last post of Ty was beautiful!! I can’t believe you! I will be concentrating on my photos that I take now as to which one I want to send you to Paint for me of my boys, too!!! Karsyn is a gorgeous girl!

  8. Beautiful! A real live fairy princess! Tinkerbell don’t have anything on her! Now it just needs a story written to go with it.

  9. Whoooo Hoooooooo!!!!!! I couldn’t wait for you to put this up for everyone to see….can you just believe it! I can’t stop looking at it and both of my daughers are a little bit upset with me because I made it my background on the computer! Jeeesssshhhhh! You’d think they were jealous or something!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Isn’t this just the most adorable picture? I love how you “sparkled” her shoes. I love the “light” in the sky with sparkles “raining” down. I love the whispy, smudgy leaves and her sitting just perfect on that flower! I just love, love, love it!
