Lullaby

A little over five years ago, I took this picture of Heidi and Seth in Tanner’s playroom.?? It has always been at the top of my list of favorites.??

Painting

I printed it on canvas and I liked it so much on my artist easel, I really didn’t want to mail it to Heidi. :)?? Sweet memories.

***************************

I am still feeling pretty yucky with this darn cold.?? Kids are seeming better though and so is Jim.?? Just takes a while to run its course I guess.?? We really need to reschedule Ty, Zane, and Tori’s birthday party but waiting until this RSV thing is over.

************************

Facebook anyone??? Frankly, I thought the whole facebook thing was dumb and couldn’t figure out the point of it.?? I created an account one day because I was trying to find someone and next thing you know I had about 30 friend requests coming through.?? Hmmm…this could be fun.?? I played a little more with it this weekend and even though I am not a twitter bug – I think twitter is fun and I like to take a glance at what my friends are twittering about.?? It is super fun for connecting with long lost friends, seeing photo albums,??and a quick and easy way to say hello – especially to those who favor a quick twitter over a blog post.?? Anyhow, my point is…if you are on facebook and I am not “your friend” – how bout’ you make one??? :)?? It’s fun. :)?? The whole six degrees of seperation thing is pretty wild too.?? Just this week I had a friend from High School find me while thinking he had found someone else.?? :)?? Small world.?? Also connected with another girlfriend from High School who turned out to be the cousin of one of my dearest friends!?? Who knew!?? I realized it when I looked at her friend list and low and behold – there was Kristi!?? :)?? Good times.

  1. That painting of Heidi and Seth is LOVELY! That doesn’t do it justice but that is the word that comes to mind. It helps that I love the subjects so much too.

I’m addicted to Facebook. I’ve pretty much abandoned my MY SPACE page for Face book, it’s quicker and more fun. And I really like that it shows you your friends that are active and what they are doing so that you can comment on what’s going on. I haven’t adopted twitter and don’t know that my life can handle another site like that. Ed gets upset with the amount of time that I have my blackberry in my hand as it is. 🙂

I also found a “small world” situation through Facebook. I found that a guy that I used to work with graduated High School with the youth pastor at my new church.

  2. I had no idea you went to BGHS! I thought you went to DVHS like everyone else, or I would have asked you long ago if you knew her. Too funny! 6 degrees of separation is right!

  3. I’m a Facebook addict… It has been great catching up with high school and college friends I had lost touch with. I admit I just don’t get twitter though, but I do have a lot of friends doing it.

I LOVE the painting! Out of curiosity, how long on average does it take you to paint a picture? All of them have been gorgeous. I would love to try it one day, but I’m not sure I would have the patience. : )

  4. I have learned to love Facebook too. I am a little surprised with how much I like it too! But, 160 friends later, I am really loving it!

I LOVE the picture of Heidi and Seth! WOW! I can totally see why you in no hurry to send it to her!!!

  5. Is it just me or did the last picture (displayed in your house) not load properly to your blog? i’ve got a green layer across the bottom of the photo.

  6. i need to make a facebook page for myself. when i made a myspace about 2 years ago, i said i wasn’t going to have both because it would be too much work! but now all of my friends and work people are doing facebook instead of myspace. i’ll friend you when i make my own!

  7. Jennifer – it takes me on average 3 hours or more for a single subject. Heidi – thereis not green layer on my monitor – weird. Meg – I think Facebook feels like a more adult version of MySpace. I am pretty turned off by MySpace and only have a simple page there for networking which I never use.

  8. Love Love love the picture! I wouldn’t want to give that one up either. On facebook, well I wasn’t all that into it for a while but I got into it when a few friends only had facebook and not a myspace. I have an account with both. I use it to keep in contact with family and some old friends. Its just eaiser…lol Anyhow I looked for you but did not find so look me up, email is high5me@hotmail.com 🙂

  9. I’m confused. My tech friends said my space was a great source of catching a virus and I assumed facebook would be as bad. Was that wrong? I am not sure how safe it is from that standpoint. I’ve never looked at facebook, I just keep getting ads from classmates.com, but I only looked at it when my 40th reunion came round a couple years ago…did i say 40?, no wonder I’m tired. Sorry Doni, but you don’t get my usual kudo’s for Heidi’s pic. She is already so beautiful anyway…that is just sour grapes…the picture just reminds me that I miss her.

  10. I couldn’t wait for you to post that pic you painted of our Heidi Jo and Seth. That is one of my favorite all time pictures and I still think it would make a great Christmas Card representing Mary with her little baby Jesus!!! (Wow Seth, how is cool is that???!!!)

    Lovin’ you as always,

    Aunt Beck

  11. Wow, I love this picture of Heidi Jo and little Seth! I agree with what Aunt Beck said! Breathtaking, No doubt, she is in love with this painting……What a treasure for them to have…
