Tori’s expression in the above says “Happy Day”.?? If you could see mine right now.?? It. does. not.?? I have to get a shower and take 3 kids downtown hoping that Vital Records will now have my daughter’s birth certificate on file.?? Supposing they do, I have to take that certificate to Social Security to get her SSN.?? While I am downtown, I also have to stop at a teaching store for stuff for Tanner because all the teaching stores on my end of town have shut down.?? Doesn’t this sound fun??? And why is all this necessary??? Because my tax appointment is at 6:00 and I completely forgot that I was going to need Tori’s SSN for adoption tax credit stuff and the juvenille court never mailed me anything saying her birth certificate is available so it slipped my mind.?? I tried to contact vital records over the phone yesterday and I about went postal trying to do it.?? The voice response unit repeated the same basic directions.?? I was to hit 2 for a CSR.?? Everytime I hit 2 (for a CSR on ANY of the menu options), the phone would ring once or twice and then the menu would kick back in and tell me to hit 2 for a CSR.?? I made no less than 10 attempts to reach a live human being and failed everytime.?? If I strayed too far from the course out of desperation, Vital Records disconnected me (ie. hitting zero or doing nothing).?? All I wanted to know is if her bc was on file so I didn’t have to travel downtown with the kids to ask this in person.?? I have never had an ounce of patience for non working “things”.?????? I’ll quite fussing and get moving now.?? Grrrrrrr…

I share your frustrations! What I hate too is when it is a voice activated menu. Those always pick up the sound of my kids in the background and cause it to do things I don’t want it to do. The other day I was trying to cancel a credit card, the kids were playing in the background and I was frantically waving my arms trying to get them to see me telling them to be quiet because what “the phone” heard was that I wanted to order a NEW credit card! ARGHHH!

Was the Vital Records closed yesterday because of President’s Day? I know that our post office and one of Minsan’s friends had the day off because it was a government holiday. I hope you were more successful today!
