Ryan – Serious Condition

Friends,

I am at home in agony over Ryan. I can’t stop the tears this afternoon. I would hurry down to the hospital in a second to be with Susie if I could. I can’t risk Ty’s health by exposing myself so I must stay at home and pray but it is breaking my heart to not be in the PICU with my friend. Ryan is in very critical condition right now and I will plead on his behalf for everyone to lift him up in prayer (and his Daddy and Mommy and 5 siblings too). Here is Susie’s most recent email. She will explain the best, so I am just going to copy her words. (Note: When Susie is talking abour heart she is being literal. She is having a physical heart issue from this stress).

We got a phone call from the hospital this morning around 7:00am telling us that Ryan has gotten worse through the night and that we needed to come to the hospital asap. So I of course gave my poor husband a fast message and ran out the door. When I arrived here this morning I saw doctors and nurses inside of his room working on Ryan and just about lost it, but was able to listen to what they needed to tell me. Ryans blood pressure has fallen into a major problem area his last read an hour ago was 50/16……..not good at all and his heart rate is still in the upper 170’s. We did get back some tests, his RSV has turned into a bacterial pneumonia and the bacteria has fallen into his blood stream. They have inserted four IV’s, blood pressure meds, heart meds, antibiotics, a main central catheter, pic line, and have now put him on a stronger ventilator called a monitor, which keeps his lungs open and gives him 700 micro breaths per minute, he has not improved and he remains about the same condition. Please continue to pray for him and maybe for his mommy who’s heart is not doing so well under all this stress. I will update later. As for now I believe he is in the best hands possible being critically as ill as he is. Thank you for all the well wishes and support. – Susie

P.S. – This post script added at midnight. Landen is also beginning to show signs of a repeat round with RSV. Please pray Landen does NOT end up in the hospital with his baby brother. Also, keep in mind that Jacob (2) and Racheal (4) have CF and could also be in serious shape if they were to come down with RSV. Let’s just cover these precious little one’s with our prayer support.

  1. Still praying here, what a terrible thing to have to go through 🙁

It puts things into perspective, last night my baby had a slight fever from his 6 month shots and I was all upset about seeing him miserable. It seems silly next to something really life-threatening 🙁

I pray we hear some good news soon!
