I love this picture.?? One of my favorites.?? I am standing with the arena to my back and right.?? The gated area in the picture on the back right is the rose garden from previous pictures.?? Across from that is the vegetable garden from Day 1.?? House is to the right of the rose garden.?? Trying to give you a little guided tour here.
As promised…a bit about their love story…
Brooke fell in love with Daniel at a very young age.?? Very young.?? Daniel, being a bit older, took a bit longer to see the woman in the girl.?? When Brooke was young she would call me on the phone and I would shoot the breeze with her just counting the seconds for her to get around to her point.?? “By the way…is Daniel home?”.?? Knew that was coming.?? Quite predictable.?? Daniel was a bit of a Don Juan during those early years and Brooke did NOT find that the least bit amusing.?? I forget her exact age when Daniel “saw the light” but I think it was at 14 or 15.?? He fell hard for her.?? I recently learned that she did not think it fair that I got married first since she had been dating Daniel longer than I had been with Jim (hee hee – typical baby sister).?? In true baby sister fashion, she upped her game and had a wedding ring on her finger by age 19.?? :)???? She knew exactly what she wanted, and like a true driver she went after it with gusto.?? She is a whirlwind.?? Sometimes her busy plate spinning (frankly) wears me out.?? Hee hee.?? She knows this about me and tries to be gentle with my task driven agended nature but sometimes she lets me know that she is just flat insisting that I abandon my plan and go for hers.?? I know why my brother adores her.?? I do too.
As a photographer, I have learned to tell people (thank you Liza), if it bends, bend it but Arlo clearly doesn’t speak my language.?? He insisted on looking me straight in the eye and I am anything but a horse whisperer.
I love this “love” picture.?? She is the sunshine in his life.

Hard to pick a favorite….This must be torture on poor Brooke – I’d want them all. 🙂 I think that is the biggest advantage of having your photographer know you. They know the true you and can capture it on film.
Doni your pictures are incredible! I think that Brooke and Daniel are so beautiful (and handsome) and I love the clear, clear look of the pictures – they seem to just “shine” and “pop” on the screen. I know, they GLOW!!!!! Another great picture shoot! (And I love the reminder of their love story!!!) Aunt Beck 🙂
brooke and daniel, i just want to tell you congratulations on seeing that light and for KEEPING the light glowing. your love for one another IS evident and clearly not put on in these photos. it is moving and beautiful to see.
i do wish i had brooke’s plate-spinning talents, but alas, my life has become GREATLY simplified in recent years. 🙂
i also want to remind you all of a phrase a dear friend’s mom told me when i was young – maybe as early as 8th grade. i guess it was her little joking theory of finding your true love. “chase him til HE catches YOU.” I guess brooke used that method for daniel to catch her. 🙂 pretty cute.
