On May 22nd Tanner turned eight years old.?? On one hand I can’t believe how old he is getting but on the other…remembering life without children seems farther and farther away (thank the Lord).?? 🙂
For his eight birthday pictures I thought something very “male” was in order.?? Some friends of ours (Tom and Pam), restore historical vehicles so I asked if I could borrow their garage.?? :)?? My original intent was to take one of the cars on location (and in some ways I regret that I didn’t) but it got a little out of scope with available resources.???? My boy is looking way too old.?? He was a real trooper for this shoot.?? It was over 100 degrees out and I asked him to wear a 3 quarter length BLACK shirt and jeans. Ouch!?? He was pretty miserable but I negotiated a backagon (he is quite into backagon stuff right now – don’t ask me – I totally don’t get the things at all).?? I don’t “bribe” my kids for what I expect them to do but photo shoots for a photographer’s child are pretty much a job so I think they deserved a little incentive.?? 🙂
Thought I should add a couple of vintage looking pictures to fit the historical theme.?? 🙂
We have two weeks off school and then six more weeks until second grade is over.?? I school year round because summer’s here are soooo hot there is just no sense in having all their time off when they don’t want to go outside.???? Looking forward to third grade for Tanner and K-garten for Ty!???? As if life wasn’t busy enough already huh?!

Tanner being 8 already, I am right on your shirt tales with Clarisse turning 8 in July…it is one of those blow me away kind of moments! I am so amazed by it all!
Im in love with pic #2…be still my beating heart! Gosh I just love Tanner. I am so glad I have gotten a chance to get closer to him by having him in class with me. I LOVE his sweet personality. Tanner brought one of those backagons to class one day and he was laughing so hard at me because I couldn’t say backagon for the life of me! I dont get them either, but whatever it takes;).
I love these pictures what a great location and what a great model. I could almost see a pregnancy shoot here for someone who is having her 4th boy. hmmmm. It always makes me a little sad to see Tanner’s b-day shoots because I know that the twins will be turning the same age in a few months.
Thankfully none of my boys are into Bakugon. Jonathan still likes Pokemon but all 3 of them are obsessed with Hot Wheels right now. They go to the website and they know all the names of the cars and then they get upset when the stores don’t have them. The one nice thing about it is that they are only 1.00 a piece, but in a way that’s bad because we have way too many hotwheels than I care to counts.

Beautiful pictures as always. What a handsome boy! One of my twins is really into bakugon as well. I totally don’t get it!! 🙂 Hmmm… maybe I’ll have to try a bribe in order to get pictures. I”m practicing practicing practicing with my DSLR… getting better, but desperately need to learn photoshop.. at the moment I don’t have a way to edit my pictures!!! You’re an inspiration… and not just on the photography front, but also spiritually.

Tanner is just so beautiful….in boys words……. handsome. I can not believe how much he has grown, he looks so grown up in these pics. I hope he has a wonderful year. Looking forward to seeing more of this cute little (well not so little anymore) red head!
