While I was taking Cozy’s newborn pictures, the usual Zimmermann chaos occurred.?? Steak got loose.???? How did a cow unlatch a gate I wonder??? Suspicious isn’t it?
Anyhow, I was pleased at this turn of events because I figured there was a pretty great chance that I was going to get some fun action shots.?? In those few moments I had all kinds of wild pictures in my mind and was giggling with delight as the different scenarios played out in my mind.?? My brother was going to have to mount up on his horse, get out the lasso and chase Steak all over the ranch.?? The cow would dodge and ditch him at every turn and the sister (me) would be hiding with her camera behind a cactus cackling as the event unfolded while madly clicking away.?? Daniel would be doing his best round up imitations and would be giving the performance of a life time.?? Just for good merit, when the cow was at long last captured, Daniel would jump off his steed and hog tie him in under 10 just to impress me.?? ๐
I was sorely disappointed when Daniel chose the lesser “cowboy” trick to get the cow back in the barn.???? Stole all my fun.?? My little idea balloon….popped.
As you can tell from the following, I was not the only one deflated.?? The other animals on the ranch were clammering for a good view as well.?? While visions of freedom danced in their head, they deliberated on a plan for their own break out.
Now they just need a rat named Templeton and a spider named Charlotte.?? ๐
Throwing in a distance view of Brooke’s garden just for fun.?? Did those sunflowers get enormous or what?
Thought you needed a giggle on this fine Monday morning.
P.S.?? She removed the duct tape.

OH NO! The duct tape….HOW?
Wonderful pictures, I was a little disappointed, the story got me all geared up for an adventure. Fun reading…..to bad the pics were not there to follow. Funny though. Love the sunflowers.
duct tape???
i love these pictures. their ranch is downright dreamy. i don’t know if i have (well, wait, i know the answer to that) to keep up that kind of ranch… but i LOVE IT and romanticize about the fun of having all those critters around. the name ‘steak’ for your beef cow is so clever. i’m just sure i would get too attached to actually eat him. i can’t “KNOW” my food. ๐ i don’t even want to see a deer before jason shoots it. only once did we have the opportunity but the buck was too fast. now that i think about it – there was the hog hunt – but they aren’t so cute and they stink to high heaven… so it didn’t hurt my feelings TOO bad to eat them. ๐ i wasn’t attached.
brooke and daniel, can we come live with you please? ๐ ok ok – at least a good visit. if we make it out there this fall i’d love to bring seth to your zoo. (see, just like family to invite themselves over, huh?) ๐
I WAS THINKING OF BROOKE FROM YOUR POST – THEN I SEARCHED THE PAGE FOR DUCT TAPE AND REMEMBERED TORI! AAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU POOR POOOR DEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you try the potty yet??? the squishy seat that sits on the big toilet with you sitting on the edge of the tub next to her – that’s how i did it with seth. she might like being a big girl and doing it herself? maybe? just maybe??? pooooor mama.
Can you please send me these shots for my blog?? I’ve never seen Wilbur look so cute!
So Doni, are you implying that your brother was not being a “real” cowboy???!!! It wasn’t rootin’, tootin’ enough for you? (Don’t you usually want to “discourage” that kind of reckless daring with your brothers?!!!!!) The impressive thing about Daniel is that he could probably have put his arm around that cows neck and drug him back into the pen by his mere strength – he is one strong cowboy!!!!
I agree with Brooke – those are some darling pics of her animals!
